Bessie Lawson Cates Bare

Bessie Lawson Bare, 92, of Piggott, died Friday, January 20, 2006, at the Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott.

She was born April 22, 1913, in Clifty, TN, the daughter of the late Usless and Bell Lawson.

Mrs. Bare was a member of the Christian Church and was a nurse.  She enjoyed fishing and gardening.

She was united in marriage to George Sherman Cates in 1928.  He preceded her in death.  They had one child.  She was united in marriage to Robert Bare in 1962 and he also preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Willene Summerfield; a brother, Scott Lawson; and a great-grandson, David Monroe.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Robinson of Hemet, CA; a granddaughter, Diana Cowley of Omaha, NE; a great-granddaughter, Rhonda Kelly of Tomball, TX; and three great-great grandchildren, Christina and Heather Kelly and Christopher Monroe; and other relatives and friends.

Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Charles Bare

Charles Bare, 83, of Hilmar, CA, died Friday, February 4, 2005, at Emanuel Medical Center.

He was born September 9, 1921, in AR, the son of John Harry Bare and Margaret Jane "Jenny" Templeton Bare.

He retired from the US Navy Military Sea Transportation Service after 28 years at sea.  He was in WWII in the South Pacific, also in the Korean War and Vietnam War, taking troops and supplies around the world.

He became an almond farmer in 1970.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.  He also liked to work in his garden and go hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Mary Lois Wegel Bare; two children and their spouses, Charles Max and Teresa Bare, and Barbara and Bruce Garcia; three grandchildren and three great-granddaughters, Heather Garcia and Lilyana & Victoria Rose, Charlie and Stacy Bare and family, and Manuel and Kristin Bare; one sister, Virginia Lee "Susie" Hayden of Concord, CA; and one brother Francis "Babe" Bare of Pollard, who followed him in death on February 6.

Burial at sea.

Frances Belle Neely Bare

Francis Belle Bare, 81, of Piggott, died Monday, April 12, 2004, in Jonesboro, AR.

She was born May 21, 1922, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Minnie Cheatam Neely.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Joe Bare on Augus 31, 1946; to this union three sons were born.

She was a member of the first Christian Church and a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; one granddaughter, Lauren Baren; five brothers, Arvel "Dick" Neely, Arley Neely, Raymond Neely, Jess Neely and Don Neely; three sisters, Bertha Cox, Marie Blan and Mary Lee Lyles.

She is survived by three sons, Tom Bare of Jonesboro, Michael Bare and wife, Tina, of Springdale, AR, and Terry Bare and wife, Jeaninea, of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Jodie, Chris, Alex, Zachary, and Pilar; three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Madison and Dilon; and other relatives and friends.

Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Francis M. "Babe" Bare

Francis M. "Babe" Bare, 76, died Sunday, February 6, 2005, at the NEA Regional Hospital in Jonesboro, AR.

Mr. Bare was born April 6, 1928, the sone of the late John Harry and Margaret Jane "Jenny" Templeton Bare.

He was a retired Brown Shoe Company employee.  Mr. Bare was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and in many other capacities throughout his years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ellis Bare; nine brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors included three children and their spouses, Sheila and Kenneth Kirk of Pollard, AR, Butch and Jane Bare of Piggott, and BIllie and Danny Plunk of Piggott; five grandchildren, Lisa Gifford, Dennis Kirk, Amy Burkman, Tracy Kaskey and Kelly Bare; five great-grandchildren, Blak, Amanda, Marcus, Dakota and Brooks; and one sister, Susie Hayden of Concord, CA.

Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, AR.

Thomas Bare

Thomas Bare, 58, of Jonesboro, AR, died Monday, September 5, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born March 25, 1947, the son of the late Thomas Joe and Frances Neely Bare.

He is survived by two brothers, Mike Bare and wife, Tina, of Springdale, AR, and Terry Bare and wife Jeaninea, of Jonesboro; five nieces and nephews, Jodie, Chris, Alex, Zachary and Pilar; two great-nieces and a newphew, Courtney, Madison and Dilon; and other relatives and friends.

Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Virginia Landrem Bare

Virginia Landrem Bare, 88, of Hulett, WY, died Tuesday, January 12, 1999, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, WY.

Born October 21, 1910, she was the daughter of George Emerson and Martha Alice (Lack) Landrem of Greenway, AR.

She was united in marriage to Jim Bare on April 26, 1929 in Piggott, and to this union four children were born; Robert, Georganne, John, and Charles.

The Bares moved to Hulett, WY, in September of 1954.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1992; and two sons, John and Robert.

Survivors include two children, Georganne Shannon of San Diego, CA, and Dr. Charles Bare of Chadron, NE; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial in Hulett Cemetery, Hulett, WY.
