Elizabeth Elaine Montgomery Bomar

Elizabeth Elaine Bomar, 70, of Piggott died Tuesday May 11, 2004, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

 

She was born February 25, 1934, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Claude Otis and Vera Mae Braden Montgomery.

 

She married Gene Bomar on February 21, 1959; to this union three children were born.

 

She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Morrow; and two brothers, Donald Montgomery and Claude Montgomery Jr.

 

She is survived by her husband; three children, Kevin Bomar of Carmel, IN, Greg Bomar and wife, Penny, of Little Rock and Kim Bomar of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Hannah, Micah, Kyle, Clayton, Carissa and Connor; five sisters, Twyla Baker of Piggott, Claudena Beliers of Piggott, Pagene Cook of Piggott, Annetta Rogers of Dyersburg, TN, and Barbara Mont­gomery of Piggott; two brothers, Bob Montgomery of Piggott and Rex Montgomery of West Plains, MO; and several other relatives and friends.

 Tom Bomar

Tom Bomar, 91, of Piggott died Saturday, August 29, 1998, in the Piggott Community Hospital.

 

He was born March 7, 1907, in Paris, TN, the son of the late John I. and Minnie Davis Bomar.

 

On August 12, 1933, he united in marriage to Jewell Boswell.

 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Bobbie Sue Bomar; two sisters, Sue Moore and Nell Jones; and one brother, Malcolm Bomar.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Bomar of Piggott; one daughter, JoAnn Duty and husband, Ray, of Piggott; one son, John L. Bomar and wife, Nancy, of Grenada, MS; three granddaughters, Tracy A. Ballard and husband, Joe, of Piggott, Carolyn B. Bakke and husband, Paul, of Hunts­ville, AL, and Alicia S. Bomar of Southaven, MS; one grandson, Ri­chard Bomar of Grenada, MS; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Lynne Bakke; one great-grandson, Matthew Joseph Ballard; one brother, Alexander Bomar of Southgate, MI; one sister, Lucille Bowden of Detroit, MI; and many beloved nieces and nephews and other rela­tives and friends.

Vaughn Gene Bomar

 

 

Vaughn Gene Bomar, 71, of Piggott died Sunday morning, February 19,2006, at Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center inPiggott.
 
He was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Blytheville, AR,  the son of Enloe Donaldson Bomar and Milie Hatley Bomar.
 
Mr. Bomar retired from the Piggott police Department in 1996 after 24 years of service as a police officer in Missouri and Arkansas. He attained the rank of Lieutenant before retiring. Al­ways a proud American, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. While in the Navy, he served on the U.S.S. Merrick, the U.S.S. Bayfield and L.S.T. 1048.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Johnny Barnes; and five sisters, Lena, Vena, Rudy, Maxine and Peggy. His beloved wife, Elaine Mont­gomery Bomar, also preceded him in death.
 
He is survived by one sister, Roberta Erwin of MI; one daughter, Debbie Kerekes of Grover Beach, CA; three sons, Gene Bomar and wife, Penny, of Little Rock, Kevin Bomar of Carmel, IN, and Kim Bomar of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Joel, Jeremy, Emily, Kyle, Clayton, Carissa, Connor, Hannah and Micah; one great­grandchild, Debbie Rae; one stepdaughter, Kathy Fuller and husband, John, of ID. Mr. Bomar also leaves fond memo­ries for many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers, includ­ing his fellow officer and loyal friend Myron Low of Piggott.
 
After Mr. Bomar was stricken with cancer and lost his wife, Elaine, in 2004, his life took a very unusual twist. He and his first wife, Arlene of Costa Mesa, CA, began a long distance rela­tionship that re-kindled a love they thought was lost almost 50 years. Those close to Mr. Bomar believe the spark of that relation­ship helped lengthen his life.
