Dortha Rue Renard Brady

Dortha Rue Brady, 77, of Rector, AR, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at St. Ber­nards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
 
She was born April 17, 1922, in Caruth, MO, the daughter of the late Henry Issiac and Lela Mae Corlew Renard.
 
She married Manuel N. Brady on January 20, 1940. To this union seven chil­dren were born.
 
She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Justin Allen Alsup; one brother, Ellis Renard; and one sis­ter, Margie Lee Renard.
 
She is survived by her husband, Manuel; seven children, Margie Louise Richardson, Linda Mae Bridges and Richard "Rick" Henry Brady, all of Paragould, Wilma Sharon Small of Greenway, AR,  Betty Fay Small of Boydsville, AR, and Bobby Wayne Brady and Charles Daniel Brady of Rector; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchil­dren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Franklin Renard of Baltimore, MD; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Burial in Pleasant Grove Cem­etery near Rector, AR.

Florence Irene Goforth Brady

Florence Irene Brady, 89, of Lapeer Township, MI, for­merly of Sterling Heights and Royal Oak, died June 21, 2001, at St. Luke's South Hospital in Over­land Park, KS.

 

She was born September 8, 1911, in Bono, AR, the daughter of the late George Henry Thomas and Dona Lee Cockrum Goforth.

 

She married Elmer Dewey Brady on October 15, 1933, in Jonesboro, AR.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Dewey on December 26, 1989; a son, Donald W. Brady in 1937; and brothers and sisters, Howard Goforth, Pearl Chavose, Ethelee Tharp and Vida Mae Pankey.

 

She is survived by her children, Linda (Charles) Stanfield of Over­land Park, Lama (Raymond) Ervin of Lapeer Township, Larry (Jan) Brady of Fletcher, NC and Darrel

(Brenda) Brady of Troy, MI; a brother, Jerry Goforth, of Yucca Valley, CA; a sister, Lois Danley of Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lapeer. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and being with her family.

 

Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, MI.

Manuel N. Brady

 

Manuel N. Brady, 84, of Rector, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, in the St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
 
He was born on June 11,1921, in Pollard, AR, the son of the late Ri­chard Lawton and Tennie May Nicholas Brady.
 
He was united in marriage to Dortha Sue Renard on January 20, 1940. They had seven children. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2000.
 
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Brady and Oliver Brady; two sisters, Florence Knuckles and Ethel Wilkes; and one great-grandson, Justin Allen Alsup.
 
He was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by three sons, Bobby Wayne Brady of Rector, AR,  Richard "Rick" Henry Brady of Paragould, AR, and Charles Danie1 Brady of Rector; four daughters, Margie Louise Richardson of Paragould, Wilma Sharon Small of Rector, Betty Fay Small of Rector and Linda Mae Bridges of Paragould; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 11 great­-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Rec­tor, AR.

Mary Ardath Hogard Brady

Mary Ardath Brady, 83, of Pig­gott died Friday, October 18,2002, at the St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

 

She was born July 16, 1919, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Thomas Austin and Mary Amy Pollard Hogard.

 

She married Francis C. Brady on December 16, 1936. To this union one son was born.

 

She dedicated her life to service to the Lord and was an active member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott.

 

One brother, Wortham Hogard and two sisters, Eva Gossett and Rhoda Baker, preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by her husband, Francis C. Brady of Piggott; one son, Neil Brady and wife, Geri, of Dallas, TX; and many other rela­tives and friends.

 

Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.

William Roy Brady, Sr.

 

William Roy Brady, Sr., was born April 7, 1916, at Piggott. He died at the Piggott Community Hospital August 5, 2003, at age 87, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Curtis T. and Mary Gossett Brady.

 

He was united in marriage to Alma Ruth Nettles on July 22, 1939, in Piggott. To this union two children were born.

 

He was saved at the age of 14 and united with Wanderer's Home Missionary Baptist Church, which ordained him as a deacon in 1945. He later answered God's call to the ministry and preached his first message on Christmas Eve 1950. He pastored several churches in the Bethlehem Mis­sionary Baptist Association. His last pastorate was at the New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Marmaduke, AR, where he served from October 1981 to October 2002. His membership was there. He.served the Association as a clerk from 1955 to 1960 and as moderator from 1961 to 1986.

 

He was a member of the Piggott Masonic Lodge 545, where he had served as chaplain for 35 years. He was presented the highest honor the Grand Lodge of Arkan­sas awards to a member of the Masonic fraternity, the "Pillars of Solomon". He was an honorary Worshipful Master of Piggott Lodge 545.

 

His survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alma Ruth Brady of the home; one son, William Roy Brady, Jr., and wife, Dorothy, of Dry Prong, LA; one daughter, Mary Lou Richardson and hus­band, Virgil, of Corning, AR; five grandchildren, William Roy Brady, III, and wife, Becky of Pineville, LA, Beth Pittman and husband, Paul, of Carrollton, TX, Sarah Richardson of Alexander, AR, Dianna Richardson-­Burdette and husband, Michael, of Corning and Laura Shipman and husband, Bobby, Jr., of Jonesboro; eight great-grandchil­dren; one brother, Francis Brady of Piggott; two sisters, Verna Smith of Poplar Bluff, MO and Bessie Ridgeway of Palm Harbor, FL; and many other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by three brothers, infant Russell Brady, Frank Settlemoir and Fred Brady and one sister, Agnes Owens.

 

Burial in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, AR.
