Clois Wan Butler

Clois Wan Butler, 87, of Rec­tor, AR, prominent farmer and 47 –year director of Clay County Electric, died Friday, August 16,2002, at Ar­kansas Methodist Medical Cen­ter in Paragould, AR.

 

Mr. Butler was a former direc­tor of the state board of directors of REA and was a member of the Soil and Water Conservation Board.

 

He was born March 25, 1915, in the Ebenezer Community, the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Clara Bell Butler.

 

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lavada Butler.

 

Mr. Butler is survived by one son, Futrell Butler and daughter-­in-law, Futrell and Ella Butler of Rector; one grandchild, Peggy Wheeler and husband, Dennis, of Rector; two great-grandchildren, Leah Smart and husband, Wade, of Piggott, and Heath Wheeler of Rector; and one great-great­-grandchild, Hannah Grace Smart of Rector.

 

Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery near Knob, AR.

Eunice Emmeline Stephens Butler

Eunice Emmeline Butler, 77, of Greenway, AR,  died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
 
She was born May 4, 1923, in Greenway, the daughter of the late Luther and Ethel Henson Stephens.
 
She married Alvin Butler on January 30, 1942. To this union one son was born.
 
She was preceded in death by three brothers, J.M., Elbert and Leonard Stephens, and one sis­ter, Ellen O'Dell.
 
She is survived by her hus­band, Alvin; one son, Mark Butler of Greenway; two sisters, Mary Crowson of Greenway and Ruth Conley of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.
 
Burial in New Hope Cem­etery in Pollard, AR.

Freida Leona Hosea Craft Butler

Freida Leona Craft Butler, 87, of Poplar Bluff, MO, died Monday, October 29, 2001, at Westwood Hills Health Care in Poplar Bluff.
 
She was born December 22, 1913, in Pollard, AR,  the daughter of the late William Oscar and Lelah Pearl Harbert Hosea.
 
She married James Thomas Craft on August 15, 1941. He preceded her in death.
 
She married Harvey Butler in 1957. He preceded her in death.
 
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Hosea and Clayton Hosea, and one sister, Pauline Moore.
 
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
 
She is survived by one son, Carl Craft and wife, Linda, of Williamsville, MO; one daughter, Janifer Hollingsworth and hus­band, Paul, of Williamsville; four grandchildren, Cindy (Craft) Pogue, Thomas Craft, Paul Darrell Hollingsworth and Carla Jan Lodike; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Wright of Piggott; one sister-in-law, Martha Hosea of Pollard; and other rela­tives and friends.
 
Burial in New Hope Cem­etery in Pollard, AR.
