Ora McGhee Claiborne

Ora McGhee Claiborne, 105, of Piggott died on Saturday, January 14, 2006, in the Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott.

 

She was born on October 7, 1900, the daughter of the late Walter C. and Laura (Hall) McGhee.

 

Mrs. Claiborne was a graduate of Piggott High School and also a graduate of the University of Arkansas. She was a dedicated teacher with over 40 years experi­ence, several of which were spent teaching in the Piggott Schools.

 

She was preceded in death by Morris S. Claiborne, whom she married in 1946. She was also pre­ceded in death by three brothers, Guy McGhee, Ralph McGhee and Andrew McGhee; four sisters, Lucy Laughlin, Blanche McGhee, Hazel Spence and Claire McGhee; four nephews, Evan McGhee, Glen McGhee, Laymond McGhee and Jack McGhee; three nieces, Zelzie McGhee Reed, Rosalie Spence and Marianne Dosier.

 

She is survived by Marianne's five children, Richard A. Dosier, Rozanne Dosier Dillson, Kathryn Dosier Canada, James R. Dosier and Tara Dosier Carter; her other nephews, W.T. McGhee, Rev. James E. McGhee and James R. McGhee; her other nieces, Alma McGhee Daugherty, Mary McGhee Cordero, Ruby McGhee Batson, Wanda McGhee Tressler and Billie Jean McGhee Weekner; and many other relatives, dear friends and students.

 

Burial in the Piggott Cemetery.

Andrew Jackson Clayton
 
Andrew Jackson Clayton, 76, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, December 22, 1998, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medi­cal Center in Jonesboro.
 
Born February 25, 1922, in Rector, AR he was the son of the late Charlie James and Ivey Oney Clayton.
 
He was united in marriage March 11, 1946, to Jane Janet Campbell in Lake City, AR.
 
He attended the Assembly of God Church in Piggott and was a retired employee of Woods Meat Processing Plant, formerly located in Piggott.
 
A lifelong resident of Clay and Craighead counties, he was an Army Veteran and a member of the Civil­ian Conservation Corps during World War II.
 
Survivors include his wife, Jan Clayton of the home; three sisters, Mary Thacker of Campbell, MO, Annie Belle Speaks of Jonesboro and Virgie Walker of St. Francis; and one brother, Earmel Clayton of Jonesboro.
 
Burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery near Rector.

Billy Edward Clayton

Billy Edward Clayton, 55, of  Paragould died January 18, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
 
He was born March 10, 1947, in Clay County, the son of Rachael Marie Warren Clayton and the late Noah Oliver Clayton.
 
He was a jailer for Craighead County Sheriff's Department and was a lifelong member of the community. He was a member of  First Freewill Baptist Church.
 
He was the former owner of Clayton Sinclair, former Marmaduke chief of police, and former jailer and deputy for Greene County Sheriff's Depart­ment.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Noah Clayton, and one sister, Sarah Ellen Clayton.
 
Survivors include his wife, Sue (Hoggard) Clayton of the home; his mother, Rachael Marie Clayton of Marmaduke; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cathy and Marty Callantine of  Paragould, Billie Jean and Sam Davis and Kami Kai Johnston, all of Rector.; five brothers, Jerry Byron Clayton of Rector, Josephe Darrell Clayton and Randy Oliver Clayton of Marmaduke, George Nolan Clayton of Paragould and David L Clayton of Piggott; six sisters Barbara Jean Carpenter of Marmaduke, Linda Louise Travis of Paragould, Mary Elizabeth Raspberry of Ft. Worth TX, Kathey Ann Wheat of Paragould, Peggy Luella Sutherland of Rector and Lesa Mechael Taylor of Cordov TN; four grandchildren, Suzie Freligh, Cody Callantine, Zachary Carter and Kailey Carter; one special grandchild,  Kaitlin O'Neal; one great-grand child, Jared Callantine; and many other relatives and friends.

Maggie Lee Howard Clemons 

 Maggie Lee Clemons, 83, of Piggott died Thursday, September 20, 2001, at Piggott Community Hos­pital.
 
She was born December 19, 1917, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Charles and Maude Barnwell Howard.
 
She married Elmer Clemons on December 16, 1934. To this union five children were born.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, on May 19, 1985; one daughter: Mary Ann Myres, on April 21, 1981; four brothers, Earl, Carl, Gene and Bill; two sisters, Leah Bray and Blanch Howard; and a special friend, Stanley McComb.
 
She is survived by four chil­dren, Billie Lee Lack and hus­band, David, of Piggott, Dorthy Jean Goodman and husband, Bill, of Wartberg, TN, John Howard Clemons and wife, Dianne, of Kennett, MO, and Charles Lloyd Clemons and wife, Jane, of Kenosha, WI; 19 grandchil­dren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Harriett Howard and Eunice Howard of Piggott and Zettie Howard of Pine Bluff; several nieces and neph­ews; and other relatives and friends.

C.L.Cline
 
C.L. Cline, 59, of Paragould died Sunday, October 12, 2003, at Arkan­sas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
 
He was born Nov. 23, 1943, in Dunklin County, MO.
 
Mr. Cline was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Dar­ling Store Fixtures in Paragould.
He attended the 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould and was a member of Ducks Un­limited.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Gayzell Cline; and one sister, Betty Over­man.
 
He is survived by a compan­ion, Peggy Reinhart of Paragould; and two step-sonsL
Tracey Reinhart of Manila and Jerry Reinhart of Paragould.

Sidney Alan Cluck 

 

Sidney Alan Cluck, 51, of Piggott died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at his home.

 

He was born September 8, 1954, in Piggott and was the son of Donald and Joyce Smith Cluck.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Cluck; and his brother, Jim Bill Cluck.

 

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Cluck of Piggott; wife, Jamie Cluck of Piggott; three sons, Jason Cluck of Piggott, Aaron Cluck of Jonesboro and Jeremy Cluck of Piggott; one grandson, Jayden Sidney Allen Cluck; one sister, Donajo Simpson; one uncle, Neil Cluck and wife, Diane, of Piggott; one aunt, Carolyn Jackson of Donelson, TN; one niece, one nephew, one grand-niece, three grand-nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
