Loyd Coble
Loyd Coble, 83, of Corning, AR, died on Friday, September 16, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born September 17, 1921, in Marshall, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Coble.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Marie Leonard on January 25, 1941, in Neelyville, MO. She preceded him in death on February 27, 1986.
Mr. Coble enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, fishing and gardening. He worked in the street department for the City of Ann Arbor, MI. He attended First Apostolic Church in Corning.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
He is survived by one son, Steven Coble of Taylor, MI; two daughters, Louise Coble of Sedalia, MO, and Ome Coleman of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, AR.

Anna B. Lawson Cochran
Anna B. Cochran, 83, of McDougal died Saturday, August 23, 2003, in Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Piggott Nursing Center) in Piggott.
She was born June 29, 1920, in Crockett, the daughter of the late Ollie and Orpha Cochran Lawson.
She was united in marriage to John Cochran on June 28, 1936. To this union one daughter was born.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended True Light Missionary Baptist Church in McDougal.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Orville Lawson; and two sisters, Ruth Lafave and Clara Maxon.
She is survived by her husband, John Cochran of McDougal; one daughter, Imogene White and husband, Ray, of McDougal; one granddaughter, Trina Phillips and husband, Jerry, of Corning; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea Phillips and Kristopher Goodman of Coming; and other relatives and friends.
Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.

Myrtle Lee Bradberry Cochran
Myrtle Lee Cochran, 93, of Corning, AR, died December 28, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born December 3, 1910, in Crockett, AR, the daughter of the late James Walter and Leota Mae Walls Bradberry.
She was united in marriage to Virgil Otto Cochran on February 17, 1926. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1981. Mrs. Cochran worked as a farmer and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Cochran; one brother; four sisters; and two grandchildren, Larry Cochran and Charles Kenneth Cochran.
She is survived by one son, James Cochran of Doniphan, Mo.; one daughter, Dois Jean
Phelan of Corning; one brother Otho Bradberryof Piggott; eight grandchildren, Dewayne Phelan of Corning, Pam Higgs of Rock ford, IL, Janie Cochran Lafoon of Atlanta, Donna Cochran Britton of Seattle, WA, Star Wooldridge of Jonesboro, Jerry "Pete" Cochran of Paragould, Pal Paige of Van Buren, AR, and Sue of Houston, TX; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Burial in the Corning Cemetery in Corning.

Bernice French Coffee
Bernice Coffee, 95, died in her Platteville, WI, home on Friday evening, January 18, 2002.
Bernice French Coffee was born December 23, 1906, in Clay County, to George II and Gertrude (Toone) French. After attending Arkansas public schools and graduating from Piggott High School, she entered Arkansas State University and taught in Arkansas public schools for a number of years.
In 1933 Bernice French married Roy Clifford Coffee. Together they furthered their education and spent many years teaching. She attended the University of Kansas, from which she received the B.S. and M.S. degrees. She continued her graduate study at the University of Missouri, where she received a Gregory Fellowship for study in English. Here she studied under the renowned Shakespeare scholar, Dr. Hardin Craig, and received the PhD. Degree in English.
She taught at the university of Kansas, the University of Missouri and Shaw University, In 1963 she and her husband joined the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, Bernice in the Department of English and Clifford in the Department of Agriculture. Mr. Coffee passed away in 1969.
Mrs. Coffee retired from UW Platteville in 1977. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Platteville, and of the Mary Circle in that church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rector, Arkansas chapter. Professional organizations to which she belonged included Delta Tau Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and P.E.O. After her retirement she engaged in worldwide travel in Europe, South America, the Middle East and China. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Odis Houston French and Bruce Voice French. She is survived by a sister, Ruth E. French of Nashville, TN, a foster daughter, Patricia Wilson of Senath, MO; plus many cousins and
friends.

Paul A. Coffel
Paul A. Coffel, 92, of Holcomb, MO, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the NHC Nursing Center, in Kennett, MO.
Mr. Coffel is survived by his wife of 68 years, Verla Coffel of Holcomb, MO; one daughter, Barbara Allyn of Omaha, NE; two sons, Dannie Coffel and wife Carol of Haughton, LA, and Kent Coffel of St. Louis, MO.
He also leaves one sister, Alice Webb of Poplar Bluff; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Mr. Coffel was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertie Long Coffel; one brother, Virgil L. Coffel; and a daughter, Carolyn Williams of Holcomb.
Burial is at Stanfield Cemetery, in Clarkton, MO.

Linnie Mae Clements Cole
Linnie Mae Cole, 88, of Piggott died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 2, 1913, in Holcomb, MO, the daughter of the late Alfred Marion and Emer Estella Parks Clements.
She married Ralph Cole on August 6, 1935. To this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1982; two brothers, Alfred Clements and Elmer Clements; and one sister, Martha French.
She was a member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ in Piggott.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Cole, and wife, Kathy, of Jefferson City, MO, and Ralph Cole and wife, Lu, of Lompoc, CA; eight grandchildren, Mark Cole, Charles Cole Jr., Dustin Cole, Jason Cole, Angela Cole, Jeffrey Cole, Jeremy Cole and Garrett Cole; five great-grandchildren, Rahsaan Michael Thomas Cole, John Morgan Cole, Gavyn Cole, Chandler Matthew Cole, Montana Morrigan, and one on the way, Matthew Alan Cole; one sister, Hattie Stallings of AZ; and other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Ruth G. Jones Collier
Ruth G. Jones Collier, 82, of Piggott died Tuesday, September 23, 2003.
She was born July 20, 1921, to Anderson and Ethel Williams Jones, then of Patterson, AR, in Clay County.
She was united in marriage to Wayne Collier on January 30, 1942. To this union one son was born.
She grew up at Greenway and graduated from the Greenway High School. Mrs. Collier attended Harding College in Searcy, AR. She then began teaching at Bennett, then Walnut Grove, Greenway and Pleasant Valley. She and her husband operated a business in Newport for a number of years, where she was active as the bookkeeper. Mrs. Collier was a member of the Thornton Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson and Ethel Jones; and one brother, Earl Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Collier of Piggott; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Barbara Collier of Greenway; two grandsons, Brian Collier of Greenway and Keith Collier of Piggott; one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Lona Jones of Piggott; one sister, Beth Morgan of Nimmons, AR; one sister-in-law, Jean Collier Martin of Gurnee, IL; several nieces and nephews; and family and friends.
Burial in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, AR.

Vinnie Deloris Warren Collier
Vinnie Deloris Collier, 73, of Piggott died Thursday, November 2, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born January 21, 1927, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Jack and Marie Wiley Warren.
She married Eugene Collier in June 1948.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Lee Collier; two sisters, Nettie King and Birdie Kobbe; and an infant brother, Marion Lee Warren.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; three sisters, Mary Rogers of Rector and Hazel Randolph and Francis Grissom of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Williams Cemetery near Piggott, AR.

Arnold Collins
Arnold Collins, 53, of Piggott died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, in the Memphis Veterans' Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1952, in Kennett, MO, the son of the late Walter and Dorothy Collins.
He was united in marriage to Kathy McCormick on October 2, 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Collins of Piggott; two sons, Luke Collins of Piggott and Jason Collins of St. Francis; one step-daughter, April Haywood and husband, Keith, of Piggott; two grandchildren, Kain and Celeston Haywood; two brothers, Charley Collins and Eddie Collins, both of Campbell, MO; four sisters, Mary Steward of Piggott, Clara Collins of Campbell, Marie Collins of Paragould and Connie Collins of IL; and other relatives and friends.

Leona Mae Young Conaway
Leona Mae Conaway, 78, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Piggott, died Friday April 23, 2004, in Three Rivers Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.
She was born March 12, 1926, in Carryville, AR, the daughter of the late Marion Wilson and Orah Allman Young.
She was united in marriage to Curtis Edward Conaway Sr. on August 13, 1943. To this union six sons were born.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Earline Smith and Vera Woolridge. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Hayti. She was retired from the Hayti Hospital. She was known for all her beautiful hand quilting and sewing, and she enjoyed fishing. She treasured her family and was the happiest when they were all together. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband of the home; six sons, Curtis "Curt" Conaway Jr. and wife Yolanda of Farber, MO, Dale "Wayne" Conaway of Fulton, MO, Tony Richard Conaway and wife Sharon of Kennett, MO, Benny Ray Conaway of Poplar Bluff, MO, Gregory Allan Conaway of Old Mines, MO, and David Conaway and wife Tracie of Troy, TN; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cloyce Young of Cahokia, IL, and Junior Young of Bellview, MO; one sister, Janice Lourance of Troy, MO; and other relatives and friends.
Burial in Williams Cemetery north of Piggott.

Dennis Michael "Babe" Conner
Dennis Michael "Babe" Conner, 54, of Piggott died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at his home in Piggott.
He was born August 5, 1949, in Qulin, MO, the son of Elmer G. and Jamima Winingnear Conner.
He was united in marriage to Shirleen "Sherry" Smith on September 27, 1974. To this union one son was born, Michael Wade.
Be was of the Baptist faith. He was the street superintendent for the city of Piggott.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer G. Conner.
He is survived by his wife, Shirleen "Sherry" Conner of Piggott; one son, Michael Wade Conner of Piggott; his mother, Jamima Conner of Qulin; two brothers, Claude Allan Conner and Donald David Conner of Qulin; two sisters, Carolyn Dunivan of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Cheryl Susie Farley of Crockett, AR; several nieces and nephews; and several other family members and friends.
Burial will be in the Holcomb Cemetery in Pollard, AR.

Earl Leslie Coomer
Earl Leslie Coomer, 88 of Hollywood FL, died October 3, 2002, at home.
He was born February 9, 1914, at Greenway, AR to Jesse James and Martha Alma Dycus Coomer.
He graduated from Piggott High School in 1933 and married
Stella Call on October 1, 1935. They were married 67 years and had one son and two daughters.
Mr. Coomer worked in heavy construction and lived in various parts of the southern states. He settled in Hollywood, FL in the 1950's but maintained a farm in the Piggott area throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Coomer is survived by his wife, Stella, of Hollywood, Fla.; son Carroll Melvyn Coomer of Knoxville, TN; daughters Linda Kay Cotton of Peachtree City, GA, and Harriett Gail Fleischer of Cooper City, FL; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother Rual Coomer of Greenway, AR; and sisters Pheba Wright of Collinsville, IL, and Louise Simpson of Flint, MI.
He was baptized into the Church of Christ at 40 years of age and remained faithful throughout his life.
The cremains were buried at Mitchell Cemetery, Greenway, AR.

Stella Call Coomer
Stella Coomer, 89, of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Greenway, AR, died October 8, 2003, in Knoxville, TN.
She was born August 25,1914, in Greenway, the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Belle Self Call.
She was united in marriage to Earl Coomer on October 1, 1935. To this union three children were born.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Coomer in 2003; three brothers, Vernon Call, Joseph Call and Charles Call; and five sisters, Veda Crowson, Vira Call, Letha Blackwood, Elizabeth Call and Laurene Edwards.
She is survived by one son, Carroll Coomer and wife, Ida, of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Linda Kay Cotton of Peach Tree, GA, and Harriet Gail Fleischer of Cooper City, FL; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Burial in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, AR.

William L. "Bud" Cooper
William L. "Bud" Cooper, 58, of McDougal, AR, died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at his home.
He was born November 23, 1941, in McDougal, the son of the late William James and Jewell Edith Green Cooper.
He married Sandra Smith on July 25,1984.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rotha Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; six children, Cindy Rohlfing of Festus, MO, Kim Groves of Hillsboro, MO, Stephanie Shy of Pevely, MO, Vicki Moore of Dangerfield, TX, Ray Clark of Moberly, MO, and Kevin Clark of Antigo, WI; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Rex Phillips of Corning and Vyrdaine Morrow of Piggott; two sisters, Wilma Allen of Pollard and Joyce Locke of Corning; and many other relatives and friends.

Clifton Harold "Sam" Copeland
Clifton Harold "Sam" Copeland died November 13,2003, after a long illness.
He was born in Greenway, AR, the son of Singleton and Jane Copeland.
He was retired from Memphis LGW and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a long time member of Wells Station Baptist Church.
After moving to Piggott, he joined First Baptist Church of Piggott.
He leaves behind his wife, Jewel Smith Copeland; one son, Michael Copeland of Staunton, VA; two daughters, Kathy Copeland of Rogers, AR, and Ann Lowe of Brighton, TN; and four grandsons.

Paul James "Jim" Cory
Paul James "Jim" Cory, 44, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at his home.
He was born April15, 1962, in St. Louis and was the son of James Allen Cory and Stella L. Williams. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ben Williams and his stepfather, Robert Rockwell.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Walker Cory of O'Fallon; mother, Stella Rockwell of O"Fallon; father, James Allen Cory of Jackson, MO; grandmother, Inez Williams of St. Peters, MO, three stepchildren, Michael, Daniel, and Heather Thompson, all of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Mikaela, and many other relatives and friends.

Dorothy Enolis Boyd Cosby
Dorothy Enolis Boyd Cosby, 83, retired school teacher and resident of Union Place Court in Columbia, TN, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital.
A native of Paragould, she was the daughter of the late J.O. Boyd and Stella Brown Boyd O'Hara. She married Floyd Cosby who preceded her in death on April 9, 1988. She was a 1940 graduate of Piggott High School and attended Carbondale College in Carbondale, IL. At the age of 54, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree and Teaching Certificate from M.T.S.U. She taught second grade at Richland School in Giles County for several years. She had over 9,000 volunteer hours with the Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also an avid bridge player.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Cosby; one daughter-in-law, Donnie Cosby; one great grandson, Timothy James Cosby; three brothers, Robert Boyd, J.D. O'Hara and George O'Hara; and one sister, Pauline Palazzola.
Survivors include two sons, James (Betty) Cosby of Columbia and Billy W. (Sandy) Cosby of McDougal; two sisters, Wilma (Art) Monroe of Amarillo, TX, and Barbara (Gordon) Braun of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren, Bryce Cosby and David Cosby, both of Columbia, and Greg Mohundro of Ripley, MS; and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Cosby of Marshfield, MO.

James Sidney Coyle
James Sidney Coyle, 73, formerly of Piggott, died Sunday, January 1, 2006, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital in Tracy, CA.
He was born on December 23, 1932, the son of the late Thomas and Thelma Coyle of Piggott.
Mr. Coyle worked as a maintenance mechanic for Southern Pacific Railroad, International Harvester and Laura Scudders. He served in the U.S. Army as a surface-to-air missile crewman stationed in California.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling stories to his grandchildren, whom he called his "pride and joy.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Wayne and Robert Coyle.
Mr. Coyle is survived by the mother of his children, Patt Coyle of Tracy, CA; children, Tom Coyle and his wife, Debbie, of Plymouth, CA, Gina Castro and her husband, Manuel, of Banta, CA, and Kathi Coyle of Tracy, CA; he also leaves three children, Vickie, Valerie and Jim of OK; siblings, Tom Coyle, Janie King, Paul Coyle, David Coyle and Norma Williams, all of IL, Al Coyle of Scottsdale, AZ, Rose Coyle, Donna Parks and Kathryn Coyle of Piggott; grandchildren, Tanya Coyle of Tracy, CA, Heather and Steven Harding, both of Plymouth, CA, Michael Bernadette, Caitlyn, Manuel, Martin and Alissa Castro, all of Banta, CA, and Thomas James Coyle of Tracy, CA; great-grandson Gabriel Joseph Coyle Hollingshed of Tracy, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment at Hall Cemetery in St. Francis, AR.
