Brooksey Lee Miller Davis
Brooksy Lee Davis, 92, of Jonesboro, formerly of Piggott, died March 9, 1999, at her residence.
Born December 16, 1906, in Holcomb, MO, she was the daughter of the late Charley and Minnie Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wesley Davis, on May 9, 1982; and three sons, Tommy, Harold and Vernice Davis.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Piggott First Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons.
Owen Davis of Rector; Vince Davis and Preston Davis, both of Pollard, Douglas Davis of Piggott,
Russell Davis of Nimmons, AR, and Elvis Davis of St. Charles, MO; two daughters, Evelyn Sevener of Jonesboro, AR, and Hazel Jones of Westminster, CA; a number of grandchildren; a brother, Charles Miller of Piedmont, MO; a sister, Lillian Hargrave of AZ; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Burial followed at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO.

Clara Virginia Harris Davis
Clara Virginia Davis, 80, of Piggott died Tuesday, January 30, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
She was born December 7, 1920, in the Piggott, the daughter of the late Abijah Vivian and Edna Trout Harris.
She married Francis Marion Davis on August 13, 1949. To this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband in August 2000, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Karla Marie Long and husband, E. Carthel, of Canton, MI; one son, Charles Michael Davis and wife, Lucinda, of Malden, MO; six grandchildren, Jason and Tracy Long of Canton, Mich., Erica Lee Davis of Pompano Beach, FL, and Callie Elizabeth Kemp, Shannon Leigh Kemp and Lucas Webster Kemp, all of' Malden; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Dawnielle Kemp, Shusecka Kemp Hill and Ayanna Kemp; one brother, Charles Harris of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Piggott Cemetery.

Clifton Davis
Clifton Davis, 83, of Poplar Bluff, MO, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, in the Veterans Hospital at Poplar Bluff.
He was born November 26, 1914, in Ketchum, OK, the son of the late Joseph Flenoyd and Mary Elizabeth Marler Davis.
He was united in marriage on August 20, 1937, to Tobitha Reda Taylor, who preceded him in death on April 5, 1998. To this union one daughter was born.
He was a former stock car race driver, a retired mechanic and a World War II veteran.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Davis of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Clifton Toombs of Rolla MO, James Flenoid and Forrest Johnson, both of Poplar Bluff; two great-grandchildren, Steven and Anthony Bostic; and other relatives and friends.
Burial in Piggott Cemetery.

Clyde Allen Davis
Clyde Allen Davis, son of the late Rufus Albert and Victoria Baker Davis, was born September 30, 1906, in Herrin, IL and died March 28, 1988, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 81 years.
He was married to Wilma Oxley on November 14, 1925. To this union five children were born.
He was married to Ada Rinehart on April 8, 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Ada Lilly Davis of Piggott; a son, Ronald Davis of Winston, OR; three daughters, Norma Sullivan of Phoenix, AZ, Alma Bowden of Salem, OR, and Pat Ludwick of Costa Mesa, CA; six step-children, Darrell Lilly of West Helena, Robert Lilly of Jonesboro, Emmett Lilly of Clarksville, TN, Oscar Lilly of Jonesboro, Margaret Chu of Cleveland, MS, and Faye Starkey of Greenville, MS; three sisters, Carmen Shasteen of McDougal, Lora Stermon of Glen Carbon, IL, and Muriel Langley of Pollard; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.

Darrell Delaine Davis
Darrell Delaine Davis, 71, died April 14, 2005, in Glendale, AZ.
He retired from Allied Signal in 1991. He was a licensed motor mechanic and an Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floye Davis and Elisha Earl Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Ginny; his brother, Gaylon Davis and wife, Betty, of Patterson, MO; his sister, Emma Thompson and husband, Danny, of Poplar Bluff. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Pamela Conrad and her husband, Jerry, and grandsons, Cody and Tanner Conrad. He was a wonderful step-father and will be missed by his step-children and their families, Steven Bowden and wife, Cheri, Chrissy Hunter, Michael Pettet and wife, Jamie, and Sammy Pettet.
He is also survived by his uncle, Ezra Davis of Campbell; an aunt, Virginia Crews of Piggott; three nephews, Mitch Davis, Barry Thompson and Kerry Thompson; and one niece, Kelly Stanfill.

Dora Lee Geer Davis
Dora Lee Davis, 73, of Piggott died Thursday, October 4, 2001, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, AR.
She was born September 16, 1928, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Joseph Claude and Lodsky Skidmore Geer.
She married William Clois Davis on June 6, 1947. To this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clois, in 1998, and two brothers, Harvey Geer and Norman Geer.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Chia of Piggott; one granddaughter, Anne Marie Chia of Piggott; one niece, Mary Francis Swope of Overland, MO; four nephews, Harvey Geer of St. Ann, MO, Charles Geer of Granite City, MO, William Geer of Ferguson, MO, and Joseph Geer of Troy, MO.

Douglas McArthur Davis
Douglas MacArthur Davis, 59, of Piggott died Monday, August 6, 2001, at Grayson, KY.
He married Sharon Wooldridge on December 31, 1965. To this union two sons were born.
He was a truck driver, farmer and mechanic and was a longtime resident of Pollard. He was of the Baptist faith and was converted at age 13.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arlon Davis, Harold Davis and Vernie Davis, and one sister, Evelyn Sevener.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Allan Davis of Marmaduke and Scottie Davis of Piggott; five brothers, O. W. Davis of Mounds, Bud Davis and Preston Davis of Pollard, Russell Davis of Carryville and Elvis Davis of St. Charles, MO; one sister, Hazel Jones of Westminster, CA; one grandchild, Shana Davis of Paragould; and many other relatives and friends.

Edith Louise Glass Davis
Edith Louise Davis, 69, of Piggott, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was the daughter of the late Jess and Pearl Glass. She was self-employed and was of the Church of Christ faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Lavon; a sister, Leota High; and a brother, Olan Glass.
She is survived by one son, Dale Davis, of Piggott; one daughter, Lasonda Beaver, of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Walter Glass of Pollard; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Burial in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.

Ella Bennett Davis
Ella Bennett Davis, 87, of Corning, AR, died September 27, 2002, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Paragould, AR.
She was born January 3, 1915, in Corning, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mamie Bennett.
She was married to the late Raymond Davis. She was a homemaker.
Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, W.T. and Lacy Bennett; a daughter, Alma Louise Bennett; two brothers, Cecil Bennett and W.O. Bennett; and one sister, Agnes Pond.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann Moody of Piggott and Erma J. Hart of Corning; one brother, Bill Bennett of Houston; three sisters, Nellie Mitchell and Thelma GalIoway of St. Louis and Osel Edington of Corning; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Ella Christine Whiteside Davis
Ella Christine Whiteside Davis, 90, of Campbell, MO, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1916, in Piggott. She was first married to Paul Byron Whiteside on October 3, 1936, in Holcomb, MO. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1974.
She later married Ezra Davis on March 7, 1977, in Broseley, MO.
Davis was a housewife and a member of the Campbell Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Ezra Davis of Campbell, MO; two daughters and one son-in-law, Genora and David Faughn of Campbell, MO, and Kathy Freeman of Campbell, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Whiteside of Searcy; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Louis Meriwether of Campbell, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Verna Lee.
Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, MO.

Elton Branson Davis
Elton Branson Davis, 65, of Rossville, TN, died Monday, August 30, 2004, at the Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital.
He retired from ABF Freight Systems after 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Branson "Speck" Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana Davis; a daughter, Dana Davis of Arlington, TN; a son, Keith Davis of Rossville, TN; his mother, Virginia Carman of Piggott; two sisters, Carolyn Featherston and husband, James, and Erma Dean Campbell and late husband, Bill, all of Piggott; two brothers, Larry Davis and wife, Sandra, and Edmund Davis and wife, Marie, all of Piggott; four grandchildren and a great-grand-child.

Floye E. Dudley Davis
Floye E. Davis, 93, of Campbell, MO, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in Poplar Bluff, MO.
She was born August 27, 1909 in Pollard, AR, to Sam and Emma Kirk Dudley.
She was united in marriage to Elisha Davis and to this union four children were born.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Davis; one infant son, Farrell Wayne Davis, and one brother Wilber Dudley.
She is survived by two sons, Delaine Davis and wife, Ginny of Peoria, AZ, and Gaylon Davis and wife, Betty of Patterson, MO, one daughter, Emma Thompson and husband, Danny, of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Virginia Crews of Piggott; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Francis Marion "Ox" Davis
Francis Marion "Ox" Davis, 82, of Piggott died Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, MO.
He was born February 9, 1918, in Carryville, the son of the late William Riley and Ida Tennessee Kisterson Davis.
He married Clara Virginia Harris August 13, 1949. To this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gail, Jim and Frank Davis, and one sister, Erie Calvin.

Georgia Maxine Battle Davis
Georgia Maxine Davis, 70, of Poplar Bluff, MO, formerly of Pollard, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born October 14, 1929, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Elmer Kisner and Vernie Battle.
She married Royal W. Davis in 1949.
He preceded her in death on March 6, 1981.
She was a homemaker. She was a Presbyterian and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Kisner.
She is survived by one son, Michael and Jackie Davis of Troy, MO; two daughters, Patti and Fred Scott of St. Louis and Verna and Rodney Roots of High Ridge, MO; two brothers, Ray Kisner of Lake of the Ozarks and Larry Kisner of Hot Springs; two sisters, Silvia Polk and Wilma Lewis of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Geraldine McLeskey Davis
Geraldine Davis, 86, of Piggott died Sunday, February 8, 2004, in the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell., MO.
She was born June 27, 1917, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Louis Frank and Kate H. Hutchison McLeskey.
She was united in marriage to Earl H. (Scott) Davis on September 16, 1939. To this union three daughters were born.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Piggott. Mrs. Davis was also a 50 year member of the Lula Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on November 17, 1974; one daughter,
Sandra Lynn on July 12, 2003; three brothers, Clifford, Boyce and Paul McLeskey; and two sisters, Gladys Forrest and Eva Lee McLeskey.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Kegley and husband, Earl, of Piggott and Martha Bellers and husband, Francis, of Cedar Hill, MO; five grandchildren, Janna Kegley of Newport, Valarie Green of Walnut Ridge, and Scott Bellers, Mike Bellers and Sherry Caruthers, all of Cedar Hill; nine great-granddaughters, Brittney, Brooke, Bayley, and Maddie Bellers, Makayla and Sydney Caruthers, and Sarah and Olivia Green; one sister, Edythe Jennings of Clovis, CA; and other relatives and friends.

Hazel Lee Davis
Hazel Lee Davis, 86, of Piggott died Friday, February 1, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1915, near Crockett, AR, the son of the late Fred and Vivian Merion Wheeler Davis.
He married Lena Wimberley on December 22, 1937. She preceded him in death on August 30, 1990.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Piggott.

Lavon Davis
Lavon Davis, 76, of Piggott died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born October 19, 1923, in Greenway, AR, the son of the late John Henry and Lela Bradford Davis.
He married
Edith Glass on July 18, 1953. To this union two children were born.
He was a lifelong resident of Clay County and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Bratcher and Edith Farmer, and one brother, William J. Davis.
He is survived by one daughter, Lasonda Beaver of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Dale Davis of Piggott; two brothers, John Davis of Crossville, TN, and Charles Davis of Poplar Bluff, MO; two sisters, Mabel Cossey of Rector and Vonda Hinkle of Piggott; one grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.

Lestel "Slim" Davis
Lestel "Slim" Davis, 79, of Campbell died on died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born on May 9, 1926, in Jonesboro. Mr. Davis was of the Church of God faith and was a retired farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was united in marriage to Pearl Sauls Adams on January 18, 1960.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Sauls Adams; three sons, Paul Davis and Vernon Davis of Piggott and Bobby Davis of Greenville, MO; three daughters, Donna Roberts of Gideon, MO, Brenda Huckelberry of Piggott and Karen Davis of Paragould; a sister, Berthie Sellers of Jonesboro; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marianna Tyson Brown Davis
Marianna Tyson Davis of Piggott died on September 6, 2005, at the age of 83.
She was born on April 4, 1922, in Oklahoma City, OK. She attended Central High School where she made many lifelong friends, was active in the Red Skirts and was named Basketball Queen.
After her graduation in 1940, she married Edward L. Brown, who tragically died in WWII. She later attended OU where she met and married Eddy Davis. They divorced in the early 60's but forged a good friendship prior to his death in January of 2005.
Mrs. Davis formed her own business in 1965, unusual at that time for a single woman. She owned 'Suite 1500' in United Founders Tower, a secretarial and answering service for many small businesses. She finished her career at the City of Oklahoma City, Traffic Division, retiring in 1988.
She moved to Piggott in 1991 to be near her daughter Vicki and her young grandchildren, who gave her so much joy. She remained in Piggott until her demise. She remained both vital and energetic until stricken with cancer earlier this year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie Louis Tyson and Ada Manila Gallagher; husband, Edward J. Brown; and son Larry Joe Brown.
She is survived by her brother, Joe L. Tyson and wife, Jo Lou, of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Mike Davis and wife, Cheryl, of Edmond, OK; daughter, Kristi Hervol and husband, Henry, of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Vicki Carlton and husband, John, of Piggott; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Shala Peterson, Jonica Davis, Alison Hervol, Ryan Davis, Nick Carlton and Lacey Carlton; one great-grandson, Ethan Davis; and two nieces, Jerry Lou and Jamie Lee.

Ora Mae Easterwood Davis
Ora Mae Easterwood Davis, 92, of Piggott died Sunday, October 23, 2005, in Piggott.
She was born September 14, 1913, near Pollard, the daughter of the late William Kirby and Eva Laura Peck Easterwood.
She was united in marriage to Myrl Davis on July 25, 1931.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl Davis; three brothers, Marvin, Bradley and Doyle Easterwood; four sisters, Marie Alexander, Mildred Davis, Mamie Jones and Wanda Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Florene Blankenship and husband, Jim, of Pollard and Wilma Carruth and husband, Walter, of Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Mack Smith of Pangburn; sisters-in-law, Helen Easterwood of Corning and Nina Easterwood of Sun City, AZ; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Owen Wesley Davis
Owen Wesley Davis, 79, of Rector died Saturday, January 7, 2006, at NEA Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born July 12, 1926,in Ho1comb, MO, to the late Thomas Davis and
Brooksie Lee Miller, he was a farmer and cattleman, a World War II veteran and a member of the Alexander Baptist Church.
He was married November 16, 1946, in St. Louis to Elsie Annette Key, who survives.
Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Tommy, Vernie, Harold, Doug and Russell; one sister, Evelyn Sevener; two grandsons, Josh Robinson and Thomas Davis, and one great-granddaughter, Mollie Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Annette, of the home; two sons, Barry Davis and wife Cindy of Olive Branch, MS, and Darryl Davis of Rector; one daughter, Debbie Robinson and husband Don of Rector; three brothers, Bud Davis and Preston Davis, both of Pollard, and Elvis Davis of Piggott; one sister, Hazel Jones of CA, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Phillip V. Davis
Phillip V. Davis, 51, of Piggott died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born September 10, 1949, in Corcorn, CA, the son of Vernie and Dorothy Cox Davis.
He married Nellie Calhoun in 1969. To this union two children were born.
He married Shirley Harmon on October 11, 1988.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernie, and one brother, Nickie Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his mother, Dorothy Bateman of Paragould; one son, Phillip Davis, and wife, Leanna, of McDougal; one daughter, Sabrina Holifield, and husband, Lenn, of Piggott; two step-daughters, Sheri Reeves and husband, Jeff, of McDougal and Brenda Roberson and husband, Joe, of Piggott; one step-son, Billy Lovett, and wife, Keri, of Paragould; five grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, Ridge, Kelsey and Ethan; six step-grandchildren, Josh, Autumn, Beth, Jimmy, Skylar and Makala; his stepmother: Florence Davis, of Piggott; the mother of Sabrina and Phillip, Nellie Butler, of Carryville; and other relatives and friends.

Russell Davis, 57, of Piggott died Wednesday, October 24, 2001, at his home.
He married Louise Meade on December 4, 1971.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; three children, Becky Coleman of Senath, MO, Carol Bouchard of Harrisburg, AR, and Jason Davis of Piggott; six grandchildren; four brothers, Preston Davis and Bud Davis of Pollard, Elvis Davis of St.Charles, MO, and

Sandra Lynn Davis
Sandra Lynn Davis, 49, of Piggott died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at her home in Piggott.
Miss Davis graduated from Piggott High School in 1972. She was a lifelong resident of the Piggott and Pollard areas and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Piggott.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl H. "Scott" Davis on April 19, 1974.
She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Davis of the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell; two sisters, Janice Kegley and husband, Earl, of Piggott and Martha Bellers and husband, Francis, of Cedar Hill, MO; five nieces and nephews, Janna Kegley, Scott Bellers, Mike Bellers, Valarie Green and Sherry Caruthers; nine great-nieces who gave her much pleasure, Brittney, Brooke, Bayley, Alex, Maddie, Makayla, Sydney, Sarah and Olivia; and other relatives and friends.

Sharon Kaye Neel Davis, 58, of Piggott, died March 18, 2007, in the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born June 21, 1948, in Arbyrd, MO, and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Helen Wilkins Neel. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Neel. Versa Margrette Davis, 97, of Clio, MI, died January 9, 2004, in Flint, MI.
She was born April 27, 1906, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Chapman Foltz.
She was united in marriage to Bill Davis on October 5,1925, to this union three children were born.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1965; one daughter; two brothers; and three sisters.

Virgle L. Williams Davis
Virgle L. Davis, 90, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Baptist Hospital in Forrest City. She had been in poor health in the past several years.
She was born September 20, 1911, in Tuckerman, AR, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sadie Templeton Williams. She married Gibson Fisher Davis in 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She had made her home in Forrest City most of her life, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Lindauer Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Stella Maye Hancock of Piggott and Mary Joan Taylor of Forrest City; three sons, William Gibson Davis of Jonesboro, Danny Kay Davis of Forrest City and Ray Fisher Davis of Columbia, TN; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Burial at Arnold Cemetery near Swifton.
