Charles "Cowboy" J. Dickens

Charles "Cowboy" J.  Dickens, 55, of Campbell died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at St. Bernard's Re­gional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
 
He was born June 17, 1949, in Campbell, the son of James Dawsey and Emma Lorene Haynes Dickens.
 
He sas united in marriage to Donna Sue Long on January 6, 1978, in Campbell.
 
Mr. Dickens was a retired factory worker and a United States Army Veteran,  having served dur­ing the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Beechwell General Baptist Church.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Dickens; one brother, Earl Leo Dickens; one sister, Emma Jean Dickens; and one grandson, Tyler Dewayne Umfress.
 
He is survived by his wife, Donna Sue Dickens of Campbell; five sons, Daniel Earl Long of Dexter, Danny Scott Long of Hot Springs, David Lynn Long of Fenton, MO, and fiancé Melanie Jackson, Charles Adam Dickens and wife, Lisa, of Campbell and John J. Dickens of Campbell and fiancé Crystal Randleman; three daughters, Amy Rene Shore and husband, Greg, of Campbell, Brenda Kaye Akridge and hus­band, Clinton, of Campbell and Dawn J. Dickens of Kennett and fiancé Brian Reeves; 11 grand­children, Autumn, Hannah, Dustin, Taylor, David Jr., Cody, Arburey, Morgan, McKenzie, Spirit and Chase; one sister, Mary Alice Melton and husband, Bill,of Piggott; one brother, Lloyd Franklin "Doc" Dickens and wife, Myrtle, of Clarkton; two nieces, Wanda Lewis of Little Rock and Joella Dickens of Piggott; two nephews, Dusty Shane Skaggs of Piggott and Marvin Mills of St. Genevieve, MO; a good friend, Terry Umfress; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Burial in El­der Cemetery in Campbell.

James W. "Bill" Dickerson

James W. "Bill" Dickerson, 77, of Piggott died Sunday, February 22, 2004, in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.

 

He was born May 14, 1926, in St. Francis, the son of the late Ambers Edgar and Ada Knox Dickerson.

 

He was united in marriage to Pat Mowery on August 17, 1957. To this union one son was born.

 

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and later in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Postal Service as Postmas­ter in St. Francis.

 

Mr. Dickerson was a member of the St. Francis Baptist Church, Veterans of For­eign Wars, American Legion, Na­tional Association of Retired Fed­eral Employees and the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge #207 in St. Francis.

 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Dickerson; and three sisters, Morine Todd, Marie Sneed and Evelyn Cole.

 

He is survived by his wife, Pat Dickerson of Piggott; one son, Mike Dickerson and wife, Kelli, of Paragould; two grandsons, Kyle and Kade Dickerson; one brother, Willard Dickerson of Selmar, TN; two sisters, Velma Davis of Sikeston and Ada Lou Dalton of Melvindale, MI; and other relatives and friends.

 

Burial in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, St. Francis.

John Wesley Dickerson

John Wesley Dickerson, 74, of Piggott died Monday, August 7, 2000, at Piggott Community Hos­pital.
 
He was born June 8, 1926, in Clarkton, MO, the son of the late Charles Thomas and Sival King Dickerson.
 
He married Vonnell Featherston on September 28, 1946, in Piggott.
 
He was a real estate/insurance salesman and attended New Cov­enant Fellowship.
 
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dickerson.
 
He is survived by his wife, Vonnell; two sons, Jerry Dickerson of Sterling, MI, and Rev. John D. Dickerson of LaPorte, IN; one daughter, Pat Summitt of Sims, AR; two sis­ters, Elsie Moore of Poplar Bluff and Hazel Greene of Warren, MI; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery near Greenway.

Sandra Kay White Dismukes

Sandra Kay Dismukes, 57, of Pollard, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, in Three Rivers Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

 

She was born in Holcomb, the daughter of Fain and Jewell Byrd White.

 

She was united in marriage to Raymond Dismukes on January 5, 1963. To this union two daugh­ters were born.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Fain; and one brother, Michael White.

 

She was baptized at the age of fourteen and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard.

 

She is survived by her husband, Raymond, of Pollard; two daughters, Ramona Weaver and husband, Marty, of Corning, and Beth Cheshire and husband, Danny, of Pollard; four grand­children, Logan, Daniel and Matthew Cheshire, and Stephen Weaver; her mother, Jewell White of Pollard; one sister, Gayle O'Dell and husband, Gary, of Pollard; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Burial in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.

Danny Ray Dixon

 Danny Ray Dixon, 54, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at his home in Riverside, CA.

 He was born April 10, 1951, at Camp Polk, LA, the son of Vernon and Sadine Dixon.
 
He was a graduate of Piggott High School. He attended the University of Arkansas where he was a Razorback band member. Dixon joined the U.S. Air Force and received training to become an X-ray technician while in the service. After leaving the Air Force, he continued to work as an X-ray technician in the private sector in California.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Dixon on March 13, 1977.
 
He is survived by his mother, Sadine Dixon of Piggott; his wife, Poe Dixon of Riverside, CA; two brothers, Ronny Dixon and family of Piggott and John Dixon and family of Rogers.
 
Burial in  Rose Hill Memorial Park, which is located in the Puente Hills in the city of Whittier, CA.
