Bettie Jane Cooper Dudley

Bettie Jane Dudley, 71, of Piggott died March 29, 2004, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born June 21, 1932, in Leonard, the daughter of Onnie and Mary Hill Cooper.

 

She worked as a bookkeeper at Piggott Mortuary-Irby Funeral Home and was a lifelong member of the community.

 

Mrs. Dudley was a member of the Piggott First Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir and K.C.K.C. choir.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Onnie Cooper, on July 10, 1976; and one granddaughter, Sarah Washburn on April 24, 2003.

 

She is survived by one son, Michael Dudley of Rector; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca Dudley of Piggott, Letitia and David Washburn of Conway and Robin and Jim O'Dell of Pol­lard; her mother, Mary Cooper of Rector; one brother, Jerry Cooper of Jonesboro; one sister, Euvila Floyd of Sumner, WA; seven grandchildren, Dana and Wes Harmon, Micha Dudley, Karissa Dudley, Colton Dudley, Heather O'Dell, Holly O'Dell and Sheri Washburn.

 

Burial at Woodland Heights Cem­etery in Rector.

Lovie Ella Bradford Dudley

Lovie Ella Dudley, 93, of Rector died Tuesday, February 23, 1999, at Rose Skill Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

 

Mrs. Dudley was born October 31, 1905, in Eglantine, AR, to the late Nathan B. and Hettie (Nelson) Bradford and was married January 19, 1927, to John A. Dudley, who also preceded her in death.

 

She also was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Dudley, in June 1995; two stepsons, Ed Dudley and Ken Dudley; four brothers, Vernon, Lois, Glover and Carl, and a sister, Geneva.

 

She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

 

Survivors include a son, Gene Dudley of Jonesboro; two daughters, Ellene Little of Rector and Ruth Coleman of Heber Springs; a brother, Kenneth Bradford of FL; two sis­ters, Leyon Lance of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Edith McKim of Little Rock, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-­grandchildren and two great-great­-grandchildren.

 

Burial in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Ann Annette Crosno Duff

Ann Annette Duff, 54, of Corn­ing died Monday, July 14, 2003, at her residence.
 
She was born December 19, 1948, in Whitehall, AR, to Ollie Owen and Flora Mae Cook Crosno.
 
She was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Duff on September 8, 1973.
 
Mrs. Duff was retired from Basler Electric Company where she was an assembler. She attended New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mae Crosno  and one brother; Doyle
Crosno.
 
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Duff of Corning; one sister, Debbie Turner of Corning; one special daughter, Brittany Turner of Corning; a special brother-in-law, Gary Turner of Corning; and several brothers-in-­law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins .
 
Burial in the Corning Cemetery.

Charles William Duffel, Sr.

Charles William Duffel, Sr., 58, of Doniphan, MO, died on January 27, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare in Poplar Bluff.
 
He was born June 15, 1944, in Rector. He worked as a Brake­man for the Union Pacific Rail­road and was of the Baptist faith.
 
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Duffel of St. Elizabeth, MO; his mother, Freda Tyler Landrum of Rector; one son, Charles William Duffel, Jr. of Dupo, IL; two daughters, Tonia LeSieur of Fulton, MO, and Shelly Marie Peskar of Imperial, MO; two brothers, Gary Duffel of Paragould and John Duffel of Jonesboro one sister, Jayne Calvin of Rector; eight grand­children, Sarah Peskar, Bobby Peskar, Hope Duffel, Joshua Duffel, Cody Duffel, Ashley Duffel Kody LeSieur and Tyler LeSieur.
 
Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery  in Rector.

William Wilson "Bill" Dunaway

William Wilson "Bill" Dunaway, 77, of Piggott died Thursday, November 22, 2001, at Piggott Commu­nity Hospital.

 

He was born July 26, 1924, in Farmington, AR., the son of the late Samuel Dee and Millie Eliza­beth Crowder Dunaway.

 

He married Hester Margaret Masterson on May 26, 1953. To this union four children were born.

 

He was preceded in death by five brothers and one infant sis­ter.

 

He is survived by his wife, Hester Margaret; four daughters, Alice Bass of Kennett, Ellen Do­ver of Piggott, Hazel Scott of Blytheville, and Angela McKenney of Cabot, AR; nine grandchildren; five great-grand­children; and many other relatives and friends.

 

Burial in Piggott Cemetery.

Denis Dutka

Denis Dutka, 66, of Olive Branch, MS, minister for over 40 years, professor and dean at Mid-South Christian College for 14 years, died December 10, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven.

 

Services were conducted December 13 with son Duane Dutka of Piggott, officiating and son, Devin Dutka of Tupelo, MS assisting.

 

Mr. Dutka, the husband of Martha Sandlin Dutka, also leaves two daughters, Denise Peeples of Grandville, OH, and Debbie Alig of Johnson City, TN; two brothers, Boris Dutka of Portland, OR and Leon Dutka of Johnson City, TN; and eight grandchildren.

Opal V. Reeves Duty

Opal V. Duty, 91, of Piggott died Monday, December 22, 2003, in the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

 

She was born March 20, 1912, in Melbourne, AR, the daugh­ter of the late George and Laura Twilley Reeves.

 

She was united in marriage to Jeff Duty on November 18, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1986.

 

Also preceding her in death was one son, Ronnie Duty; one sister and four brothers.

 

She is survived by one son, James (Pete) Reeves and wife, Renate, of Piggott; one grand­daughter, Laura Worley of North Richland Hills, TX; one grand­son, Steve Reeves of North Richland Hills, TX; four great-­grandchildren; one sister, Cuba Effinger of Piggott; and other rela­tives and friends.

 

Burial in the Piggott Cemetery.
