Elsie Vadalia Barker Hampton

Elsie Vadalia Hampton, 67, of West Memphis, AR, formerly of Rector, AR, died Monday, February 6, 2006, at  Baptist East in Memphis, TN.

Born October 8, 1938, in Rector to the late Denver Barker and Dessie Oneida Burkhead Barker, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was also precded in death by a sister, Lisa Hampton.

She was married August 3, 1955, to Roy Lee Hampton, who survives.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Lee Hampton of Memphis; two daughters, Jean and Kenny Roberts of Marion, and Teresa Maxcy of Memphis; two brothers, Danny Barker of Fulton, KY, and Mickey Barker of Pollard, AR; two sisters, Loreta Owen of Paragould, AR, and Patricia Griffin of Florissant, MO; five grandchildren, Heather Finley, Jason Maxcy, Kristen Maxcy, Ashley Maxcy and Jered Roberts, and two great-grandchildren, Caitlin Finley and Hailey Finley.

Burial in Mitchell Cemetery, near Greenway, AR.

Ethel Marie Book Hampton

Ethel Marie Book Hampton, 86, of Marion, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at the Willowbend Nursing Home in Marion.

She was born September 20, 1919, the daughter of the late Riley Lewis and Lottie B. Parton Book.

Mrs. Hampton was a member of the General Baptist Church of Piggott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Hampton; two daughters, Carl Jean and Norma Lee; one son, Louis Elbert; one brother, Johnny Book; and two sisters, Virgie Binkley and Edith Simpson.

She is survived by four daughters, Lottie Platt of Marion, Mary Martin and Patricia Tyler, both of Manila, AR, and Judy Hobbs of Louisville, KY; three sons, Charles Hampton of Proctor, and John Hampton and Earl Hampton, both of Michigan City, IN; three brothers, Ray Book, J.B. Book and Doilous Book, all of Piggott; three sisters, Faye Predmore of Campbell, TX, Margie Jones of Duran, MI and Louise Harmon of Kennett; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Kenneth Ray Hampton

Kenneth Ray Hampton, 55, of Piggott, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005.

He was born April 1, 1949, in McDougal, the son of Loyd and Ruby Scheffler Hampton.

He was united in marriage to Cathy Goodman. They had two sons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loyd Hampton; and three brothers, Junior Hampton, Dallas Hampton and Terry Hampton.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby Hampton of Piggott; wife, Cathy Hampton of South Carolina; two sons, Kenny Ray Hampton and wife, Regina, of SC and Tallad Lynn Hampton of Poplar Bluff, MO; one grandchild, Jesse of SC; two brothers, Cletis Hampton of Beaumont, TX, and Gary Hampton of Collinsville, IL; five sisters, Reba Martin of Piggott, Linda Hampton of Piggott, Brenda Parrish of Paragould, Joyce Montgomery of Piggott and Penny Crowson of Pollard; a special sister, Virginia Hampton of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.

Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, AR.

Lucille Starnes Hampton

Lucille Hampton, 83, of Qulin, MO, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, MI.

She was born April 21, 1917, in Peach Orchard, AR, the daughter of the late Louis Henry and Mary Molencupp Starnes.

She was married to Thomas Earl Hampton on January 18, 1947.  He preceded her in death on March 11, 1999.

She is survived by two daughters, Merry Locke of Flint, MI, and Bonnie Wolosonowith of Qulin, MO; eight sons, Johnnie Winchester of North Little Rock, AR, Wayne Gozie of Flint, MI, Bill Hampton of Genesee, MI, Gene Hampton of Otisville, MI, Clifford Hampton of Flint, MI, Dale Hampton of Dexter, MO, Robert Hampton of Boyd, TX and Jimmie Hampton of Poplar Bluff, MO; two brothers, Charles Starnes of St. Louis and James Starnes of Ellington, MO; and two sisters, Marie Davis of Farmington, MO, and Lena Mae; 26 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial in Qulin Cemetery, Qulin, MO.

Margaret Hamilton Hampton

Margaret Hampton, 84, of Qulin, MO, died Sunday, December 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus, in Poplar Bluff, MO.

She was born October 19, 1919, in Ben Lomond, AR, the daughter of James and Fannie Morris Hamilton.

She was united in marriage to Charlie "Chuck" Hampton on November 2, 1934 in Piggott.  He preceded her in death on October 14, 1991.

Mrs. Hampton was a housewife.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She was also preceded in death by one son, J.C. Hampton; one brother, George Hamilton; one daughter, Gertie Nemilyer; and two grandchildren, Danny Hampton and Teresa Hampton.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Kinney of Qulin, and Wilma Daniels and husband Larry, of Qulin; five grandchildren, Jack Daniels, Bobby Hampton, Frankie Kinney, Judy Seagraves and Lisa Hampton; and three great-grandchildren, Cassie Kinney, Jeremiah Mitchell and Michael Daniels.

Burial in Carols/Berger Cemetery in Oglesville, MO.

 Thomas Earl Hampton

Thomas Earl Hampton, 90, of Qulin, MO, died March 11, 1999, in Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Born October 15, 1908, in Qulin, he was the son of the late Pete Elber and Pharlotth (Lehopper) Hampton.

He had lived in Qulin since 1969 and was a shopworker and janitor for General Motors in MI.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Wynfred (Starnes) Hampton of Qulin; six sons, Bill Hampton of Genesee, MI, Gene Hampton of Otisville, MI, Clifford Hampton of Flint, MI, Dale Hampton of Dexter, MO, Robert Hampton of Boyd, TX and Jimmie Hampton of Poplar Bluff, MO; two stepdaughters, Merry Locke of Flint, MI, and Bonnie Wolosonowich of Qulin; two stepsons, Johnnie Winchester of North Little Rock, AR and Wayne Gozie of Flint, MI; 32 grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Eva Tanner of Piggott.

Burial in Qulin Cemetery, Qulin, MO.
