Opal Hanna
Opal Hanna, 82, of St. Francis, AR, died Friday, April 19, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1919 in Carryville, AR, the daughter of the late Thomas and Effie Mae Hardin Moore.
She married James B. Brawner on August 11, 1936. To this union four children were born. He preceded her in death.
She married James A. Hoots in June 1965. He preceded her in death in 1979.
She married David H. Hanna on March 4, 1984. He preceded her in death in 1999.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Michael Brawner and James Barney Brawner, Jr; one grandson, John Gregory Wright; three brothers, Isaac Moore, Louis Moore and Bill Moore; one half-sister, Alice Milburn; and one half-brother, Edgar Reed.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Knuckles and husband, Frank, of Piggott, and Janice Heffner and hudband, Ricky of Cherokee Village, AR; five grandchildren, Lewis Wright, Bradley Wright, Patty Woods, Jimmy Brawner and Kari Hensley; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, near St. Francis, AR.
Ruth E. Hardy Hanna
Ruth E. Hanna, 84, of St. Francis, AR, died Monday, January 25, 1999, in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, AR.
Born in Chaffee, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Nora E. Davis Hardy.
She was united in marriage to Ernest Hanna on September 1, 1934 and to this union, two children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Eugene Hanna, on January 20, 1940. He was four years old.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Francis, AR, since 1933, where she was a pianist for 50 years. She was a 50-year member of the Lula Chapter #372 Order of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Hanna of St. Francis; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Dorenda Hanna of Germantown, TN; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Rebecca Ruth Hanna and Michael Riffell of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.
Wanda Gurley Hanna
Wanda Hanna, 77, of Paragould, AR, formerly of Piggott, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in Paragould.
She was born on April 17, 1929, in Piggott, and was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruby Tabatha (Harwood) Gurley.
She is survived by one daughter, Tabatha Dunlap of Washington, DC; two sons, Jimmy Hanna of Plano, TX, and Derek Gene Hanna of DeRiddler, LA; three granddaughters, Samantha Chandler of Lonoke, AR, Sabra Cheyenne Hanna, and Ashtyn McCall Hanna; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Marie Chandler; two sisters, Alice Marietta Glenn of Hot Springs, AR, and Martha Jane Coomer-Knight of Sherwood, aR; a step-mother, Edith Gurley of Alma, AR; and many other relatives and friends.
William Ernest Hanna
William Ernest Hanna, 94, of St. Francis, died Monday, September 9, 2002, in the Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born November 27, 1907 in Alma, IL, the son of Dave Henry and Maggie Elizabeth Hoyt Hanna.
He was united in marriage to Ruth E. Hardy on September 1, 1934. To this union two sons were born.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Francis. He was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge #207; and he owned and operated a service station for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, in 1999; one son, Ernest Eugene Hanna, on January 20, 1940. He was four years old; three brothers, David Hanna, Charles Hanna and Russell Hanna; three sisters, Mary Louise Karlish, Hazel Fritz and Elsie Slater.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Dorenda Hanna of Germantown, TN; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Rebecca Ruth Hanna and Michael Riffell of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Marguerite Vineyard of Malden, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.
