Lucy E. Edwards Healey

Lucy E. Healey, 82, of Rockford, IL, died April 24, 2003, at Alden Nelson Debes Sub-acute Facility.

She was born May 20, 1920, in Piggott, to Druey and Tennie Edwards.

She married Herbert C. Healey, Jr., April 15, 1950.  To this union, one son was born.  She was the loving mother of Herbert C. Healey, III.

She worked for the law frim of McCanna, Morsbach, Pillote and Muir.  She was a member of St. Anskar's Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Healey, Jr., on June 6, 2002.

She is survived, by her son, Herbert C. Healey, III, of Rockford, IL; one sister, Louise Johnson, and husband, Raymond, of Blytheville, AR; one brother, Druey Edwards, Jr., and wife, Pon, of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Edwards, of Bloomington, IL, Patricia Tkacik of Lynchburg, VA, and Mildred Coleman and husband, Clarence of Falzburg, PA; three brothers-in-law, Ronald Healey and wife, Pat, and Larry Healey, both of New Kensington, PA, and Morris Healey of Wichita Falls, TX.

Elmer Clark Heath

Elmer Clark Heath, 81, of Black Oak, AR, formerly of Piggott, died Monday, February 11, 2002 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.

He was born November 20, 1920, in Gleason, TN the son of the late Elmer A. and Louise Clark Heath.

He married Melissa Graves on December 22,1956.

He was employed by Timken Bearing and Steel of Canton, OH.  He entered the US Navy in August 1940 and was honorably discharged in 1946.  He was in Pearl Harbor during the attack.  At the time of his death, he was a disabled veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa; one daughter, Barbara Woodworth of Lansing, MI; one grandson, Karl David Woodworth of Lansing; one granddaughter, Angela Smith of Comstock Park, MI; two sisters, Christine Perry of McKenzie, TN and Wilma Taliaferro of Mena, AR; and other relatives and friends.

Burial in Mars Hill Cemetery near Crockett, AR.

Melissia Graves Heath

Melissia Heath, 73, of the Rector Nursing Home, formerly of Black Oak, AR, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003, in the Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born August 29, 1930, in Crockett, AR, the daughter of the late Ruben T. and Callie Hilderbrand Graves.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Heath on December 22, 1956.  He preceded her in death in February of 2002.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Charles (Bill) Graves and Dave Runyon.

She is survived by her life-long friend and cousin, Dorothy Boozer of Piggott; and many other cousins and friends.

Orval Ray Heathcock

Orval Ray Heathcock of Campbell, MO, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, at the age of 80 years, four months and 20 days.

He was born September 9, 1922, in Booneville, MS, the son of the late George W. and Minnie M. McCoy Heathcock.

He was united in marriage to Mayoma Maxine Mackey on December 31, 1945, in Piggott.  To this union three children were born.

He was a US Army Veteran, having served during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 109 in Campbell.  He retired as a maintenance worker from John's Produce.  He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Minnie M. McCoy Heathcock; one son, Allen Ray Heathcock; one brother Edsel Heathcock, and three sisters, Willadean Collins, Bernice Johnson and Elowise Vaughn.

He is survived by his wife, Mayoma Heathcock of Campbell; two daughters, Ginger Evans of Campbell and Fay Buie and husband Scotty, of Malden, MO; three grandsons, Scott Miles and Shannon Buie of Campbell, and Heath Buie of Salem, MO; one granddaughter, Sarah Powers of Campbell; three great-grandsons, Clint Miles, Kyler Miles and Jake Buie; five great-granddaughters, Makinley Powers, Daley Powers, Blaney Powers, Madelyn Miles and Cheyenne Buie; and one sister, Virginia Mackey of Lions, IL.

Burial in Stanfield Cemetery, Clarkton, MO.

John E. Hedrick

John E. Hedrick, 73, of Walnut Ridge died Monday, July 6, 1998, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.

He was born at Toluca, IL  Formerly of Newton, IL, he recently retired to Walnut Ridge, AR.

He was a Christian Church minister for 51 years and a former pastor of Otwell Christian Church and First Christian Church in Piggott.  He was a member of the Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton, IL.

He served in the US Army Signal Corps in WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florence Hedrick of Walnut Ridge; one daughter, Carole Johnson of Pocahontas, AR; two sons, Stephen Hedrick of Norfolk, VA, and Mark Hedrick of Cabot, AR; one sister, Jean Lentz of Union City, TN; three grandsons, and one granddaughter.

Burial in the Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, IL.

Beauford Gerald "Rocky" Hefner

Beauford Gerald "Rocky" Hefner, 85, of Piggott died Wednesday, December 14, 2004, in the Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott, AR.

He was born October 28, 1920, in Knobel, AR, the son of the late James Orto and Virginia Adaline Raiger Hefner.

He was united in marriage to Nellie Walker. They had one son.

He was united in marriage to Alice O'Sheridan Turner on January 20, 1962, and lovingly inherited four daughters.

He accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age.  He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Army Infantry and a member of Piggott Masonic Lodge Number 545.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hefner; one son, Danny; two brothers, Paul and Tommy Hefner; and two sisters, Edsel Hefner Ramer and Opal Hefner Tyler.

He is survived by four daughters, Alice Cole and Rick Nettles, Karen and Ronnie Goodwin, Sandra and Dick Walls, and Billie and Max Poole; one daughter-in-law, Martha Hefner Cavitt; five granddaughters, Dana Hefner Faulkner, Kimberly Walls Sisk, Denisa Alice Poole Shipley, Wendy Walls Smith and Candie Poole Holcomb; 12 great-granddaughters, Krystal Alice, Kaitlyn, Heather and Amber Cole, Jordon Faulkner, Lexi, Peyton and Kara Bell, Riki Sisk, Hollie and Tessa Holcomb and Brooke Alice Shipley; a very special sister-in-law, Bernice Hefner; special nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Danny G. Hefner

Danny G. Hefner, 61, of Paragould, AR, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at his home.

He was born August 4, 1938, in Knobel, AR, the son of Beauford Hefner and Nellie Felty.

He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Knobel Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Alice Hefner; step-father, Vernon Felty; and his grandparents, Charles and Edna Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; a daughter, Dana Faulkner, and husband, Anthony, of Paragould; his mother, Nellie Felty of Paragould; his father Beauford Hefner of Piggott; a grandson, Hunter Faulkner of  Paragould; a granddaughter, Jordan Faulkner of Paragould; a step-brother, Kenny Felty of Paragould; and four step-sisters, Alice Cole, of Hesperia, CA, Karen Goodwin of Pacific, MO, Billie Poole of Piggott, and Sandra Walls of Corning, AR.

Burial in Linwood Cemetery, Paragould, AR.

Dorothy C. Russell Heidbreder

Dorothy C. Heidbreder, 94 of Piggott, died Sunday, October 22, 2000, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born October 13, 1906, in Clay County, the daughter of the late Thomas H. Russell and Jennie Latta Russell.

She married L.H. Heidbreder on May 11, 1930 in Pollard, AR.  He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Edward Heidbreder.

He was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Richard Heidbreder of Poplar Bluff, MO; one daughter, Janet Roeder of Piggott; three brothers, Lloyd Russell of Piggott, Leslie Russell of Corning, AR, and Ivan Russell of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Emma Lou Morgan of Searcy, AR; grandchildren, Julie Mobley, Claire Rouse, Greta Heidbreder, Lee Sisson, Landon Heidbreder and Stacy Johnson; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, AR.

Madeline Brown Helton

Madeline Helton, 86, of Bay City, MI, formerly of Piggott, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004, in the Carriage House Nursing Home in Bay City.

She was born July 11, 1917, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Hazel Parker Brown.

She was united in marriage to Edd Elvin Helton on October 13, 1934.  To this union nine children were born.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Helton; one daughter, Patsy Huffman; and one brother, Donald R. Brown.

She is survived by seven children, Carlos Helton of Ft. Myers, FL, Shirley Nickel of Mayville, MI, Larry Helton of Hazel Park, MI, Adell Buzzell of Onaway, MI, Elaine Hockey of Myrtle Beach, SC, Eddie Helton of Petoskey, MI and B.J. Helton of Saginaw, MI; 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald P. Brown of Piggott; two sisters, Mildred Brown of Piggott and Reba Henson of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.

Ruth Mae Maples Helton

Ruth Mae Helton, 95, of Brighton, IL, died Sunday, June 3, 2001. 

She was born December 6, 1905, in Campbell, MO, the daughter of the late John R. and Betsy J. Earhart Maples.

She married Floyd B. Helton on September 6, 1921, in Piggott.  He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Alton First Baptist Church and the Rebecca Lodge in Campbell.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Helton; grandson, Jim Helton; great-granddaughter, Renee Lamunion; one brother; and three sisters, Therma Gowsett, Norvella Walker, and Katie Krop.

She is survived by two sons, Floyd Helton, Jr., and wife, Velma, of Malden, MO, and Dorris Helton of Cahokia, IL; one daughter, Betty Kirby, and husband, Jerold, of Brighton, IL; one daughter-in-law, Vera Helton; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Campbell, MO.

Grady Leon Hendley

Grady Leon Hendley, 62, of Nimmons, AR, died Sunday, January 17, 2001, in Nimmons.

He was born September 15, 1938, in Black Oak, AR, the son of the late Amos and Versa Gillihan Hendley.

He married Nona Alderson on January 29, 1958.  To this union five children were born.  She preceded him in death in 1988.

He married Brenda Faye Beck on November 10, 1989.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Piggott.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Janis.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; three sons, Jerry Wayne Hendley of Crockett, AR; Eddie Hendley of Conroe, TX, and Kenneth Hendley of Cherokee Village, AR; two daughters, Linda Brandaberry of Imboden, AR, and Cindy Johnson of Nimmons; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-son, Dallas Lewis of College Station, TX; one step-daughter, Becky Calhoun of Boydsville; and other relatives and friends.

Bobby Hendon

Bobby Hendon, 64, of Dyess, AR, died August 18, 2003 in Memphis, TN.

He was born September 27, 1938, in Keiser, AR, the son of John S. and Ollie Hendon.

Mr. Hendon was a farmer and lifelong resident of Missippi County.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Dyess, AR.  He was also a member of the South Mississippi County Sportsman Club.

He was preceded in death by his father John. S. Hendon; and two brothers, Charles and J.D. Hendon.

He is survived by his mother, Ollie Hendon of Dyess, AR; five daughters, Tammy Henard and husband, Raymond, of Dyess, AR, Michelle Schmidt and husband, Steve, of Jonesboro, AR, Shawn Tuck and husband, Darrin, of Harrison, AR, Kyra Langley and husband, Jared, of Piggott and Amanda Hendon of Keiser, AR; one brother, James Hendon and wife, Ozella, of Olive Branch, MS; three sisters, Mary Carson and husband, Charles, of Southgate, CA, Bettye Ward and husband, Tommy of Marion, AR, and JoAnn Harris and husband, Keith, of Hot Springs, AR; six grandchildren, Adam and Ashleigh Henard, Andrea and Blake Schmidt, Sydney Long and Isaac Langley.

Maxine Dana Dubar Hendrix

Maxine Dana Hendrix, 54, of Rector, AR, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born April 9, 1947, in Rector to the late Huley and Rosie Lloyd Dubar, she was a caregiver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Raymond, and by two grandsons, Shane Guffey and Joshua Guffey.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Hendrix of Rector; three daughters, Betsy Gufey of Moses Lake, WA, Betty "Tooter" Taylor of NJ and Susan Potter of Piggott; one sister, Billie Lloyd of Hot Springs, AR; and four grandchildren.

Luther Hensley

Luther Hensley, 80, of Memphis, TN, died Monday, May 16, 2005 in the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

He was born March 31, 1925, in Nimmons, AR, the son of the late Drew and Lilly Frances Goodman Hensley.

He was united in marriage to Jewell Crews on January 26, 1943.  They had four children.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerry Lynn Hensley, two brothers, Elmer Lee Hensley and James Herman Hensley; and three sisters, Imogene Williams, Nina Hampton, and Wanda Bolton.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Hensley of Memphis; four children, Peggy Bray and Jerry Hensley, both of Memphis, Donna Todd of Jackson, MO and Linda Tucker of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Mary Ruby Henson

 Mary Ruby Henson, 86, of Pollard, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the Piggott Nursing Center.

She was born April 1, 1915, in Caruthersville, MO, the daughter of the late Ruben and Mary Alice Kemper Henson.

She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Roy Pobst, and a nephew, Kevin Louis Pobst.

She is survived by a half-brother, Ray Pobst, of Pollard; sister-in-law, Mary Pobst, of Piggott; four nieces, Connie Pobst, Phillis Looney, Sondra Gatewood and Teresa Dunlap; and many other relatives and friends.

Bettie Thorn Stow Herring

Bettie Stow Herring, 67, of Peach Orchard, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003, in the Rector Health Care in Rector, AR.

She was born April 23, 1935, in Franklin, OH, the daughter of the late Lester Frederick and Eva Elizabeth Ridenger Thorn.

She was united in marriage to james Weldon Stow, he preceded her in death in 1978.  She was united in marriage to Herrill Herring, he also preceded her in death in 1999.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Tina and Elizabeth Stwo; one son, James Weldon Stow, Jr.; one brother, Lester Thorn Jr.;  and one sister, Evelyn Brewer.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Hancock and husband, Laney, of corning, and Dr. Angela Roberts and husband Joseph, of Montego Bay, Jamaica; four grandchildren, April Huston of Mexico, MN, Jamie Roberts of Nashville, and Sam Hancock and Randle Hancock, both of Corning; one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Sullivan; three sisters, Delores Fauteux of Orlando, FL, Margaret Hurtt of Dyersburg, TN and Uretta Broughton of Frenchtown, MT; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mary Elizabeth Smith Herring

Mary Elizabeth Herring, 74 of Dexter, MO, died October 6, 2004, at her home.

She was born on July 12, 1930, in Greenway, the daughter of the late John Frank and Ethel Mae Hodgson Smith.

She married Logan Ray Herring on February 12, 1949.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; two daughters, Linda (Leo) Leroy, and Retha (Bruce) Hansen; one son, Michael Herring; grandchildren, Lee LeRoy, Monica Hansen Benton and Brett Hansen; three older sisters, Susie Frederick of Arnold, MO, Nancy Key of Shouth Haven, MI, and Delora Turner Blumenauer of Dumont, CO.

Burial in Washtenong Memorial Park, Dexter, MO.
