Jewell Williams Walker Hobbs
Jewell Walker Hobbs, 84, of Campbell, MO, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born December 24, 1916, in Pollard, AR, the daughter of the late Claud Ellison and Mary Joda Latta Williams.
She married Edward Levi (Aleck) Walker on July 17, 1937, in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1985.
She was a retired merchant and former owner of M&J Department Store in Campbell. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Campbell Chapter 92 for 24 years, during which she frequently served as treasurer.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Jane Walker; three brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Walker Manship-Francis and husband, Dean, of Harrah, OK; three brothers, Lemuel Williams of Biloxi, MS, Paul Williams of Little Rock, AR, Joe Williams of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren, Alan Walker Manship, Angela Susan Holt, and William Basil (Bart) Manship, Jr., all of Harrah, OK; and six great-grandchildren, William Basil Manship, III, Asa Thomas Manship, Alan Suzanne Manship, Tabitha Elizabeth Manship, Joseph Colton Manship and Alexandria Susan Holt, all of Harrah, OK.

Bessie Evans Hodge
Bessie Hodge, 89, of Morley, MO, formerly of Pollard, AR, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
She was born December 5, 1917 in Pollard, the daugher of the late Luther Edgar and Tinna Elizebeth Pollard Evans.
She was united in marriage to Jessie Leeman Hodge on July 3, 1933. To this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Leeman Hodge in 1974; three sons, Jesse Leeman, Ronald Leon Hodge and Leroy Evans; three brothers, Lowell, James, and Royce Evans; and one sister, Mary Lee Dunlap.
She is survived by one son, Dairel Hodge of Oran, MO; one daughter, Betty Banks of Morley, MO, nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Eugene Evans; two sisters, Louise Cooper and Darlene Potts; and a host of other relatives and friends.

John W. "Bill" Hogue
Veteran and former Piggott fire chief, John W. "Bill" Hogue, of Piggott, died suddenly at age 64 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
Mr. Hogue worked over 30 years as an insurance agent with Gregory Insurance in Piggott and Walnut Ridge. His love for others and his desire to serve and work for his community were evident throughout his life.
He retired as Command Sgt. Major with the Arkansas National Guard after 45 years of service. He served on tours in Panama, Honduras, Kuwait, and a multi-national peach keeping task force in the Sinai Peninsula after the terrorist attacks in 2001. He received numerous awards and commendations for his military service.
He served with the Piggott Fire Department for over 20 years and was fire chief at the time of his retirement. he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 545 and a volunteer with the Relay for Life.
He was born January 23, 1942, in Pollard, AR, the son of the late Marvin Hogue and Ruth Fewin Hogue Mayberry.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Smith on November 13, 1959. They had three children.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hogue of Piggott; two sons, Tim Hogue of Los Angeles, CA and Troy Hogue of Arkadelphia, AR; one daughter, Kelli Hogue of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Jeff and Suzanne Conley; one brother, James Hogue of Madisonville, TN; one sister, Linda Newkirk Camp of Little Rock; stepbrother, Max Mayberry of Piggott; stepsister, Joyce Dudley of Mason, TX; and other relatives and friends.

Richard N. Holbert
Richard N. Holbert, 52 of Wickes, AR, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, in DeQueen Regional Medical Center.
He was born to Walter and Dorothy Holbert in Stuttgart, AR, on November 13.1949. He received his BSE from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and his EDS from Arkansas State University. He was superintendent of Wickes Schools, and was active in community affairs. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walter Allen Holbert.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Poole Holbert of Wickes; one daughter, Sunshyne Holbert of Wickes; one brother, Al Holbert of Texarkana; seven sisters, Flora Jenkins of Texarkana, Sara Smith of Stuttgart, Janice Dortch of New Liberty, IA, harietta Martinetti of Sarasota, FL, Dotti Sue Holbert of Biloxi, Patsy Harris of Kansas City, MO, and Betty Prevost of Alvin, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Lorraine Camp Holcomb
Kathleen Lorraine Camp Holcomb, 76, of Bradenton, FL, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, at her home.
She was born on December 5, 1925, in Tarentum, PA, the daughter of the late Lee Earl and Mary Jane Wolfe Camp.
She was united in marriage to DeWayne D. Holcomb in January 1944.
She is survived by her husband, DeWayne of the home; three sons, Gerald W. Holcomb of Redford, MI, Andrew A. Holcomb of Canton, MI, and Rodney R. Holcomb of Bradenton; four grandchildren, one sister, Jean Parkhill of Lower Burrell, PA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Frank Hollis
Frank Hollis, 83, of San Diego, CA, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, in San Diego.
He was born June 18, 1916, in Piggott, the son of the late Earnest J. and Tessie Cosby Hollis.
He was a 1937 graduate of Piggott High School and was a member of the Mohawks football team that won the 1934 Clay County championship game.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1939 and retired after 31 years of service. He retired from the US Postal Service after 13 years and was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aliene, and two brothers, Francis Hollis and Denver Hollis.
He is survived by one brother, Ernest J. Hollis of Rector, AR; five sisters, Joyce Hobbs of Campbell, MO, Alma Crossfield and Patsy Edwards of Piggott, margaret Benesiuk of Daytona Beach, FL, Mildred Tiller of Ottowa Lake, MI; and many other relatives and friends.

Eula E. Breeden Holloway
Eula E. Breeden Holloway, 78, of Mt. Morris, MI, formerly of Piggott, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at her home.
She was born December 3, 1922, in Waverly, TN, the daughter of the late John L. and Lauretta Corbin Breeden.
She married Cecil F. Holloway on July 27, 1944. To this union five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, in 1997; two daughters, Carolyn and Kaye; and one brother, John H. Breeden.
She attended Goodrich Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by three children, Johny Holloway and wife, Mary, of Mt. Morris, MI, Brenda Counelis and husband, John, of Otisville, Mi and Terri Hobbs of Piggott; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Breeden of Waverly, TN; one sister, Viola Wallace of Dickson, TN; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Charles S. Holmes
Charles S. Holmes, 83, of Birmingham, AL, died Monday, February 22, 1999.
He was a member of the Brewster Road Baptist Church and was an Air Force WWII veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Linam Holmes; one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and James Stevenson of Trussville, AL, one son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Sanderlin Holmes of Vestavia, AL; two grandchildren, Paul Lee Seegraves, Jr., and wife, Heather, of Piggott, and Philip Holmes of Homewood, AL; two step-granddaughters, Robin and Stephanie Kelly of Vestavia, AL; one sister, Reba Chandler of Fairview, AL; one brother and sister-in-law, Cordis and Grace Holmes of Cullman, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred L. Holmes, 80, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Rector, AR, died Monday, May 31, 2004.
She was a member of the Brewster Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and James Stevenson of Trussville, AL, one son Paul Holmes of Trussville, AL;one brother, George Linam of Rector, AR; two grandsons, Paul Lee Seegraves, Jr., and wife, Heather, of Piggott, and Philip Holmes of Homewood, AL; and great-grandchildren, Emilee Seegraves and Shawn Hudson Seegraves.

Barry Lynn Honeycutt
Barry Lynn Honeycutt, 37, of McDougal, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, in Fagus, MO.
He was born October 4, 1964, the son of Junior and Carolyn Windle Honeycutt.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Gene Honeycutt.
He is survived by one son, Brandon Finley of McDougal; his father and mother, Junior and Carolyn Honecutt of McDoubal; two brothers, Junior Lee Honecutt of Pollard, AR and Jimmy Honeycutt, of McDougal; one sister, Donna Melton of Broseley, MO; and other relatives and friends.

Martha E. Duckworth Hooper
Martha E. Duckworth Hooper, 94, died Sunday July 15, 2001, at Morton Terrace in Morton, IL.
She was born March 3, 1907, in Hamilton County, IL to John Francis and Ellen Varner Duckworth.
She married Walter E. Hooper on October 1, 1944, in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1983 in Peoria.
She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Gaylon Leo Anderson, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Anderson O'Brien of Jackson, MS; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Entombment was in Springdale Mausoleum.
Wilma Jean Hall Hoover
Wilma Jean Hall Hoover, 74, of Piggott, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in the St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born June 22, 1930, in Mountainburg, AR, the daughter of the late Richard S. and Hettie Kennedy Hall.
She was united in marriage to Samuel W. Hoover on September 16, 1950. They had three children. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996.
She is survived by one daughter, Kate Hoover of Jacksonville, AR; two sons, Samuel W. Hoover, Jr. of Memphis, TN and William W. Hoover, of Little Rock, AR; seven grandchildren, Sarah Clair, Leanne Morrison, Angus Hoover, Tara White, Max Hoover, Samantha Donda and Albert Hoover; four great-grandchildren, Jackie, Zachary, Dillon and Madison; three brothers, Jack Hall of California, Robert Hall of Pearson, AR, and Richard Hall of Conway, AR; two sisters, Sue Graham of Austin, TX, and Faye Sanson of Conway; and other relatives and friends.

Emily Allen Hopkins
Emily Allen Hopkins, 60, of Ripley, TN, died June 13, 2004, in Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
She was born July 21, 1943, in Boydsville, AR, the daughter of Eugene King Allen and Wilma Phillips Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Vaughn Hopkins; one brother, David Taylor Allen; and her father, Eugene King Allen.
She is survived by one son, David Hopkins of Ripley, TN; two daughters, Belinda Hilliard of Ripley and Melinda Olds of Halls, TN; her mother, Wilma Allen of Pollard, AR; and four grandchildren.

Mable Smith Horton
Mable Smith Horton, 90, of St. Peters, MO, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in St. Peters.
She was born May 22, 1911, in Darnell, LA, the daughter of the late Elick and Minnie Smith.
She married Bethel Horton on December 24, 1955, in Hernando, MS. He preceded her in death.
She was retired from Bussman Fuse Factory and was a member of Savannah Baptist Church near Benton, MO.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Bill Poole, and wife, Betty of St. Peters; two grandchildren, Kim Yurick of Mendora, IL and Paula Grogg of St. Peters; two great-grandchildren, Erica Grogg and Alise Grogg of St. Peters; and many other relatives and friends.

Paschal E. Hoskins
Paschal E. Hoskins, 85, of Paragould, formerly of Leachville, AR, died Monday, March 22, 1999, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, AR.
Born at Morrilton, AR, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katie Hoskins.
A retired farmer, he was a long time Leachville resident and had lived in Paragould for the past four years.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Leon Hoskins; a daughter, Phyllis jean Hoskins; and four sisters, Mae Myra Rockwell, Callie Meyer Rockwell, Minnie Fletcher and Emma Hoskins Callaway.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Watkins Hoskins of the home; three sons, Bobby Don Hoskins of Piggott, Danny Earl Hoskins and Lonnie Joe Hoskins, both of Paragould; three daughters, Jeanice Irene Martinez of Downey, CA, Fay Paulette Parker and Brenda Kaye Matthews, both of Paragould; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Opal Irene Buck of Lilbourn, MO.

Opal Ward Hounihan
Opal Ward Hounihan, 81, of Portageville, MO, died Friday, February 9, 2001, at Pemiscot Health Systems, in Hayti, MO.
She was born Jun 1, 1919, in Clay County, AR, the daughter of the late Charlie I. and Haxel Totton Ward.
She married Truitt Hounihan on November 28, 1935, in Piggott. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1997.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Elliott of Blytheville; one son, Dennis Hounihan of Portageville; three sisters, Viola Jones, Dot Pipkin, and Sandra Davis, all of Piggott; three brothers, Charles Ward of Heber Springs, AR, Bob Ward of Piggott, and Sam Ward of Malden, MO; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sidney House, Jr.
Sidney House, Jr., 59, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of St. Francis, AR, died June 18, 2001.
He was a veteran of the US Army, retiring after 23 years, and resided in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Allen House and Mattie Shepard House and a brother, Charles House.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Lynn House; three daughters, Michelle Lee House, Gwendolyn Yvette Vasquez and michelle Renee Wilson; sons-in-law, Rudy A. Vasquez, Jr., Mark Wilson and future son-in-law Steven Espinoza; four grandchildren, Christopher Holton, MAtthew Wilson, Zachary Wilson, and Rudy A. Vasquez III, all of San Antonio; two brothers, Carl House and wife, Mary Lou, of St. Francis, and J.D. House of Vincennes, IN; and a sister-in-law, Pansy House of Hammond, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joann Jenn Jackson Householder, 65, of Piggott, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR.
She was born October 14, 1940, in Booneville, the daughter of the late Marshall and Beatrice Wilson Jackson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Biff Householder.
She is survived by one daughter, Chrystal Householder of Piggott; seven grandchildren, Nolan, Jason, Marshal, Thomas, Rachael, Rebecca, and Eli; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Russell Householder
Russell Householder, 52, of Pollard, AR, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
He was born August 2, 1951, in Granite City, IL, the son of Francis Odell and Mary Jane Weller Householder.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Householder of Piggott; one son, Charles Householder of Alton, IL; one daughter, Mila Shae of CA; one sister, Cecelia House of Pollard; two brothers, Floyd Householder and Elbert Lee Householder of Nashville, AR; and many other relatives and friends.

Don "Bud" Earl Howard
Don "Bud" Earl Howard, 72, of Shawnee, KS, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000, at Medical Lodge Nursing Home in Gardner, KS.
He was born on July 20, 1928, in Piggott, the son of John Earl and Lillian Thornton Howard.
He married Marian Marie Youn in September 1947 in Flint, MI. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Howard.
He was an engineer for Federal Electric Company and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Smith of West Covina, CA, Gwin and Howard Dickinson of Shawnee, KS, and Donna and Jim Milligan of Marshville, MO; one sister, Bonnie Howard Bain of Gladwin, MI; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister-in-law, Harriet Howard.

John Ray Howard
John Ray Howard, 77, died January 16, 2007, in Piggott. He was the son of the late George Washington Howard and Blanche Edna McCarroll Howard. He was born July 10, 1929 in Stella, AR.
He was united in marriage to Betty Sue Finley on April 19, 1951, in Batesville, AR. To this union six children were born.
He was employed by Cessna and Boeing Aircraft Industries. After moving to New Mexico, he was employed as a pipeline contractor. He enjoyed playing music, and played at clubs in the Albuquerque area. He was of the Baptist faith.
Howard is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Betty Howard of Piggott; three sons, Frank Howard of Grand Junction, CO, James Howard of Los Lunas, NM, and Phil Howard of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Jacquie Black of Elk City, OK, Suzi Howard of Decatur, GA, and Teri Michelle Howard of Cartersville, GA; eight grandchildren, Scott Guidry, Lou Donna Malone, Austin Smyth, Erin Gibbins, Janet Howard, Sarah Howard, Jennifer Ramie, and P.J. Howard; five great-grandchildren, Jamie, Riley, and Zack Smyth and Lauren and Adam Gibbins; local nieces and nephews, Joe Davidson, Pat Davidson, Paula Cone, Janet Teague, Eddie Howard, Ann Hopper and Pam Turner, all of Melbourne; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Boyce Howard and Roman Howard, and a half-brother, Huber Howard, and three sisters, Lois Davidson, Anna Moore and Louise Bisson.
Earl James "Cotton" Howell
Earl James "Cotton" Howell, 81, of Corning, AR, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March23, 1922, in Piggott, the son of the late Robert James Howell and Olla Marie (Harper) Howell.
He was a farmer, and a member of Morris General Baptist Church.
He married Floy Dissie (Neeley) Howell on December 11, 1948.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Franklin Howell, one brother, Jewell Howell; and two sisters, Bessie Masterson and Ruby Deniston.
He is survived by three sons, John Howell of New Matamores, OH, Earl "Joe" Howell of Paragould, and Wallace "Pete" Howell of Cabot, AR; three daughters, Kathy Howell and Sally Lephiew of Cabot and Bessie Little of Willington, TN; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
