Imogene Hooks Cullum

Imogene Cullum, 84, of Piggott died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Piggott Nursing Center.
 
She was born November 5,1917, in Rector, AR,  the daughter of the late Charley B. and Lula Mae Beckley Hooks.
 
She married Jesse J. Cullum on November 17, 1934. To this union two children were born.
 
She was a member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ.
 
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Joyce Knuckles, and two brothers, J.C. Hooks and Geraine Hooks.
 
She is survived by her hus­band, Jesse; one son, Sherman Cullum and wife, Linda, of Hickory Ridge, AR; one grand­son, Lin Cullum of Harrisburg, AR; one granddaughter, Brenda Joyce Ward of Cantonment, FL; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Caitlin Rodriguez; one sister Floretta Tanner of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.
 
Burial was in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

 Jesse James Cullum

Jesse James Cullum, 92, of Piggott died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Piggott Community Hos­pital.
 
He was born September 30, 1909, in Bee Branch, AR, the son of the late William Jasper and Lura Mae Lunsford Cullum.
 
He married Imogene Hooks on November 17, 1934. To this union two children were born.
 
Mr. Cullum moved to Clay County in a covered wagon in 1923. He farmed as long as his health permitted.
 
He was a member of the Thornton Street Church of Christ in Piggott and served as deacon for almost 50 years.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene, on March 5, 2002; one daughter, Betty Joyce Knuck­les;, three brothers, Harvey Cullum, W.J. Cullum, Jr. and Howard Cullum; and five sisters, Eva Wright, Lena Gibson, Lavesta Hester, Bessie Cullum and Vera Cullum.
 
He is survived by one son, Sherman Cullum and wife, Linda, of Hickory Ridge, AR.; one grandson, Lin Cullum of Harrisburg; one granddaughter, Brenda Joyce Ward and husband, Steve, of Cantonment, FL; two great-­grandchildren, Eric and Catilin Rodriguez; three sisters, Euvanell Pratt of Rector, Mattie Castoe of Purdy, MO, and Iva Dell Albo of Avondale, AZ; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
 
Burial in Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

John Nell Cullum
 
John Nell Cullum, 74, of Lake City died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
 
She was born on February 7, 1931, in Piggott, the daughter of the late John and Lora Thrasher.
 
She was a shoemaker and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Cullum had lived in Lake City for five years, previous to that she resided in Pheonix, AZ.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Cullum; one brother, Bruce Thrasher; and one sister, Lora Wagster.
 
She is survived by one sister, Maye Ann Hatch of Hot Springs; one brother, Richard Thrasher of Chula-Vista, CA; two sons, Dou­glas Cullum of Harrisburg, AR, and John Smith of Pheonix, AZ; three daughters, Judith Holt of Lake City; J-Uan Giadone of Pueblo, CO, and Janila Yaw of West Memphis, AR; nine grandchil­dren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
 
Burial in the Piggott Cemetery, Piggott, AR.

Sherman D. (Lin) Cullum Jr., 43, of Harrisburg, AR,  a graphic designer, died December 18, 2005, in Little Rock, AR.
 
He was born July 18, 1962, in Osceola, AR.
 
Mr. Cullum was an accom­plished pianist, loved flowers and his cats, especially Mondrian. He was a talented artist and did beau­tiful silk designing. He was a graduate of Memphis College of Art with a B.S.A. degree in textile design. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon and Sadie Swindle, and Jess and Imogene Cullum; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his parents, Sherman and Linda Swindle Cullum of Hickory Ridge.
