Edith Janes Brawner
Edith Janes Brawner, 87, of Piggott, died Friday, February 9, 2001, at Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born January 28, 1914, the daughter of the late U.V. and Dicie Janes of Fagus, MO, formerly of Pollard.
When a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm in the Walnut Hill community north of Pollard.
She married Claude Brawner on December 24, 1932. She moved with Claude and her children to Piggott in 1948, where she resided until the time of her death.
She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott, where she atteneded for over 40 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking for her friends and for church events. Her chicken and dressing and apple pies were favorites of everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, in May 1984; two year-old son, Billy Ray, in 1943; brothers, Louis, Ernest, Hershel, Roy and Willie. She had two brothers, Ursel and Elbert and a sister, Mildred, who died as infants.
She is survived by four children, Bob and Rita of Flint, MI, Bonita Johnston of Jonesboro, Ron and Linda of Fayetteville, AR, and Edwin and Belinda of Edmond, OK; on brother, Earl Janes and wife, Faye of Byron, CA; eight grandchildren, Robert and Jeff (children of Bob and Rita), Don and Donna (children of Bonita and her late husband, Jerry Johnston), Martha and Misty (children of Ron and Linda), and Amanda and Jennifer (children of Edwin and Belinda); seven great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Rachel (daughters of Roberta), Jackie and Jordan (children of Jeff and Jewel), Nancy (daughter of Don), and Josh and John (sons of Donna and Brian.)
She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, who loved to visit Aunt Edith.

Elmer Henry Brawner
Elmer Henry Brawner, 86, of Springdale, AR, died March 30, 2007, in Springdale.
He was born August 28, 1920, in Pollard, AR, to John Henry and Florence Crocker Brawner.
He was retired from General Motors where he was a production worker for more than thirty years. He also drove a school bus for the Springdale School System for fourteen years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, served in the Navy and enjoyed all sports and walking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Lucille Lee Brawner of the home; son James Brawner and wife, janet of Mustang, OK; two daughters, Sonya Simpson and husband, Don, of Springdale, and Sherry Johnson and husband Robert, of Commerce, TX; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial in Elm Springs Cemetery.
Leroy Davis Brawner
Leroy Davis Brawner, 63, of Piggott, died Monday, November 6, 2006, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 13, 1942 in Pollard, AR and was the son of the late Leon and Rose Davis Brawner. He was united in marriage to Joyce Cate Crossfield on June 11, 1994.
He was a retired mechanic for the United Parcel Service and an active member of the Mingo Tractor Club. He enjoyed organizing the Antique Tractor Show for the Clay County Fair and participating in and showing his antique tractor collection in area shows.
He was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, fulfilling many duties such as serving as an usher, serving as director of opening assembly and willing to serve in any other capacity as needed.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one daughter Karen Sharp and Rick of Chesterfield, MO; two sons, Donnie Brawner and Karen of Springfield, MO, and Jason Brawner of Ballwin, MO; one step-daughter, Valerie Walker and Michael of Whaleyville, MD; four grandchildren, Evan, Ashley, Alexis, and Lauren; one sister, Charlotte Leona James of Crestwood, MO; one brother, John Brawner and Pat of Piggott; two brothers-in-law; Granville Cate and JoAnn of Piggott, and Carl Cate and Pat of Walnut Ridge, AR; a sister-in-law, Zilla Cate of Piggott, and many other relatives and friends.

Mary Rogers Brawner
Mary Rogers Brawner, 88, of Piggott, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Three Rivers Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, MO.
She was born January 4, 1915, in Crockett, AR. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Eula Rogers.
She was united in marriage to Truman Brawner on March 10, 1934.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; two sons, Pharis and Roger Brawner; and one daughter, Anna Jean Birchett.
She is survived by her husband, Truman Brawner, of Piggott; one daughter Phyllis Newman of St. Louis, MO; one son, Bob Brawner of Piggott; four grandsons, Chris Brawner, Dan Brawner, Steve Birchett and Michael Birchett; three great-grandchildren, Cory, Sabrina, and Morgan; son-in-law, Garry Birchett; a very special friend, Maggie; and many other friends and relatives.
Maudie Elizabeth Throgmorton Brawner
Maudie Elizabeth Throgmorton Brawner, 91, died Sunday, February 10, 2002, at Baylor Medical Center in Texas.
She was born March 1, 1910, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Rolla and Janie Brandon Throgmorton.
She was a member of the Venus Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville, in 1976; one son, Lynn Brawner, in 1949; and one daughter, Rita Brawner, in 1936.
She is survived by one son, Dale Brawner, and wife, Joy, of Maypearl, TX; one daughter, Gail Evans, and husband, Jim, of Maypearl; three sisters, Clara Burris, of Piggott and Ethel Bryant and Lura Turman of Hot Springs, AR; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Ruby Aleta Raymond Brawner
Ruby Aleta Raymond Brawner, 99, of Piggott, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, in Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Piggott.
She was born June 7, 1906, in Greenway, AR, the daughter of the late Monroe and Mae Davis Raymond.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Ulrich in January of 1944. He preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Ethridge Brawner in April of 1979. He also preceded her in death in 1996.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Herman Raymond and Truman Raymond and wife, Margaret, all of St. Charles, MO.
She graduated from Piggott High School on May 15, 1930, and afterwards taught school in Clay County for 13 years. At the same time she attended college at Jonesboro during the summers until she had accumulated enough hours to equal two years of training. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age at Gravel Hill Methodist Church and at the time of her death was a member of First Baptist Church in Piggott.
She is survived by one sister, Edith Green of Piggott; one sister-in-law, Mereda Raymond of St. Charles, MO; one nephew, James Raymond and wife, Peggy, of Baldwin, MO; five nieces, Sandy Huff and husband, Jerry, of Independence, KS, Joan Elder and husband, Eugene, of Maryland Heights, MO, Barbara Gawedzinski and husband Norbert, of Fenton, MO, , Linda Balestreri and husband, John, of Maryland Heights, MO, and Evelyn Ulrich of Logansport, IN; one stepson, James Richard Brawner of Kooskia, ID; and many other relatives and friends.

Stephen Michael Brawner
Stephen Michael Brawner, 42 of St. Francis, AR, died Marcy 7, 1999, in Walnut Ridge, AR.
Born May 3, 1956, he was the son of James Barney and Opal Moore Brawner.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, J.B. Brawner.
Survivors include one daughter, Kari Hensley of St. Francis, one son, Sam Brawner Strong of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; two grandchildren, Taylor Mincher and Derrick Hensley; his mother, Opal Hanna of St. Francis; two sisters, Shirley Knuckles of Piggott and Janice Heffner of Cherokee Village; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, St. Francis, AR.
Truman Brawner
Truman Brawner, 88, of Piggott, died Friday, September 24, 2004, in the Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1916, in Pollard, AR, the son of the late John Henry and Florence Crocker Brawner.
He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Rogers on March 10, 1934. They had five children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Brawner; two sons, Pharis Brawner, and Roger Brawner; one daughter, Anna Jean Birchett; three brothers, Leon Brawner, Denver Brawner and Paul Brawner; and two sisters, Lois Brandt and Imogene Green.
He is survived by one daughter Phyllis Newman of St. Louis, MO; one son, Bob Brawner of Piggott; four grandsons, Chris Brawner, Dan Brawner, Steve Birchett and Michael Birchett; four great-grandchildren, Cory, Sabrina, Morgan and Savannah; one sister, Norene Braden of Pollard; one brother, Elmer Brawner of Springdale, AR; son-in-law, Garry Birchett; a special niece, Elanor Toombs; a very special friend, Maggie; and many other relatives and friends.
Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, AR.
